Married at First Sight Chapter 918

Chapter 918
Liberty followed a strict diet, avoiding foods high in sugar and fat.
She currently weighed one hundred fifty pounds, with a goal of reaching a hundred. With fifty more pounds to lose, Liberty was determined to reclaim her figure.
Having lost a significant amount of weight, Liberty appeared much healthier on the outside.
As Liberty jogged back to her restaurant, she found her ex-husband waiting for her, as expected.
Hank’s car was parked right in front of the restaurant. Since Liberty had locked the glass door, he couldn’t enter. Leaning against his car, he had one hand in his pocket while the other held a cigarette, which he took occasional puffs from.
Liberty frowned.
His presence was the last thing she wanted in her life.
It wasn’t as if he came to see their son.
Liberty found it ironic.
Before their divorce, Hank had rarely been home. The couple barely had time to converse, and he was unwilling to engage with her, as all she discussed were household matters. Hank dismissed such trivialities.
He preferred to talk about stocks and projects. With Liberty out of the professional scene, she had lost touch and could no longer provide him with advice. Hank often claimed they had nothing in common, refusing to give her the time of day.
Now that they were divorced, Liberty had not sought him out once, yet he continued to appear before her.
“Where have you been?”
Upon seeing Liberty return, Hank straightened up and asked sternly, “The door’s locked. Is this how you run a business? Don’t waste my money. Do you think just anyone can run a business?”
“What do you mean ‘your money’? I’m using my own,” Liberty replied.

Hank wore a sullen expression, exuding aloofness. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at the office at this hour? Hank, we’re no longer together. Can you please stop intruding on my peaceful life? Your wife will accuse me of stealing her man when she finds out.”

Tch. Liberty would prefer to be a single mother forever than reunite with Hank. She had once fallen for his charms, but she wasn’t foolish enough to be deceived by the same tricks again.

“You f*cking cost me my job! My boss fired both me and Jessica, and he’s refusing to give us any compensation!” Hank intended to extract money from his boss due to his termination. However, his boss silenced him with the same evidence that Liberty had used to threaten him.

His boss even lashed out, explaining that Waltham Electronics had been suffering under York Corporation and had lost significant business lately due to Mr. York’s personal grudge against Hank. If Hank and Jessica kept their jobs, Waltham Electronics would likely go under.

Hank was well aware that Zachary was the one behind the turmoil at work. He knew his time at Waltham Electronics was limited. Nonetheless, he hadn’t submitted his resignation and was waiting for his boss to fire him. According to the contract, the boss was obligated to compensate both him and Jessica for their job loss.

Unfortunately for Hank, his boss possessed evidence of his betrayal to the company. The boss claimed he was being gracious by not seeking damages from Hank. Still, Hank expected the company to compensate him, even though it was highly unlikely.

“You’re a heartless woman, Liberty. You took more than half of my assets and cost me my job! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. I can’t believe I’m experiencing it firsthand! I don’t regret divorcing you; my only regret is not doing it sooner!”

It would be a significant loss if he divorced Liberty before Serenity’s wedding. Hank would never have to confront Zachary’s vengeance.
