Married at First Sight Chapter 848

Chapter 848
Serenity felt as though she might go crazy if she remained under house arrest.
Fortunately, Zachary arrived and was willing to restore her freedom.
“Uncle Zack.”
Sonny spotted Zachary as Serenity lifted him up, and he eagerly stretched his arms toward Zachary, wanting him to carry him.
Zachary happily obliged and picked him up.
“Higher, Uncle Zack! Go higher!”
Zachary chuckled and lifted Sonny high into the air, prompting bursts of laughter from the little boy.
“That truck…”
Before Liberty could finish her question, Zachary interjected, “Seren said she wanted to raise chickens herself, so Ms. Sox helped buy these chickens. I plan to ask Brandt to take Seren to my orchard to see if we can relocate and breed them there.”
Liberty eyed her sister and asked suspiciously, “Why the sudden interest in raising chickens?”
Serenity hesitated and replied, “Since we’ve already bought them, we need a place to keep them.”
Liberty looked back and forth between Serenity and Zachary, realizing this was her sister’s way of stirring up trouble… It seemed she was missing some context.
Zachary mentioned he would ask the housekeeper to take Serenity to his family’s orchard. Did that imply Serenity was free?
“I won’t go there, Zachary. Just let Brandt lead the driver to your family’s orchard. Since my sister is here, I’ll go back with her.”
Zachary responded warmly, “As you wish.”
He had no objections to that.
Serenity took Sonny back from Zachary’s arms and said to her sister and best friend, “Let’s go.”
“Oh, right.”

As they walked, Jasmine and Liberty both glanced back at Zachary.
Serenity carried Sonny to the car and pulled…

Zachary called out to her suddenly.

The three women immediately tensed up, especially Serenity. Her first thought was that Zachary had changed his mind, and she needed to escape quickly. Acting on instinct, she yanked open the driver’s door, but Zachary caught her arm and pulled her back before she could get into the car.

“Zachary, are you going back on your word?” Serenity demanded loudly.

Zachary was momentarily speechless. She had no trust in him at all. The way he had treated her after she learned the truth had left her with lasting fear, which explained her reaction. This realization twisted a knife in Zachary’s heart. If he ignored Josh’s advice and continued to imprison Serenity, he would eventually lose her for good.

“I’m not going back on my word, Seren,” Zachary said, his heart aching, though he hid it from his expression. He loosened his grip on her arm and took two steps back to create some distance, hoping to ease her tension and fear.

“I just wanted to remind you to let your sister drive since you’re in a bad mood. It’s safer for you to sit in the back with Sonny.”

Serenity regarded him with suspicion.

Zachary then turned to his sister-in-law, saying, “Liberty, you drive. Don’t let Serenity drive for now.”

He noticed the damage to the front of Serenity’s car and deduced it was the result of her reckless driving yesterday. Fortunately, she was unharmed. A damaged car was not a significant issue; he could always provide her with dozens of new ones, as long as she was willing to accept them.
