Married at First Sight Chapter 816

Chapter 816
“Seren.”
Zachary noticed her staring at him in silence and called out anxiously, “Are you okay?”
Had he used too much force? Had he hurt her?
“Zachary York!”
Serenity snapped back to reality and shouted his name through clenched teeth. She sat up and lunged at him like an angry lion, grabbing his collar with one hand and striking the back of his neck with the other.
She screamed in fury, “You jerk! You b*stard! How could you knock me out?!”
Her neck ached terribly!
This b*stard said he loved her. Was knocking her out and causing her pain his idea of affection?
Forget him! She wouldn’t trust a single word he said. She had lived in the web of lies he spun for the past four months. Her trust in him had plummeted to nothing!
“Seren, Seren.”
Zachary avoided letting Serenity strike him further, fearing that she might truly knock him out and escape.
Once she had vented some of her anger, he forcefully pulled her into his arms as before, hugging her tightly to gently restrain her.
“Seren, I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have knocked you out, but I didn’t know how to make you stay. Please don’t leave me, okay? I promise—I’ll never lie to you again! Don’t go, Seren!”
Zachary couldn’t bear to imagine his life without Serenity.
“Let go of me! I won’t believe a single word that comes out of your mouth. Your promises are worthless! You’ve made so many promises, yet you lied to me every time! I warned you that we would break up if you kept lying!”
“I don’t want to live one lie after another. I don’t know which version of you is real. I can’t tell which words are true. Zachary, you’d better release me, or I’ll never forgive you!”
“You—”

“You even knocked me out. My neck hurts like crazy now. You jerk, all you do is cause me pain. If I had known you were the heir of the York family, I would have preferred to go to Shawn and lie to my sister than marry you!”

At the mention of his love rival, who had just been dealt with by his parents, Zachary felt a mix of fear and bitterness. He worried that Serenity would turn to Shawn in anger after discovering he had lied to her.

It had been some time since Shawn was sent to the company’s branch in Havenmill by his parents. He hadn’t contacted Serenity since then, but Zachary was certain the guy hadn’t given up on her. If Serenity reached out to him, Shawn would drop everything and return immediately.

“Don’t even think about contacting Shawn! I-I’ll break your… I’ll lock you in this house so you can’t leave. I’ll take away all your communication devices!”

Zachary let out a low growl, prompting Serenity to look at him directly. After his outburst, panic set in again. He shouldn’t have said that.

It was reminiscent of the early days of their marriage; he often meant well but ended up saying things that hurt her feelings. He was sharp and decisive in business, yet when it came to emotional matters, he was even worse than a teenager.

“All you know how to do is threaten me and boss me around. This is the real you, isn’t it? You’re the eldest grandson of the York family, born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Whether at home or out in the world, everything revolves around you.

Your brothers defer to you and obey your every command. You are the center of the universe. In the company, you’re the head, so everything you say is law.”
