Married at First Sight Chapter 813

Chapter 813
“I had no idea you came from a wealthy family! What could I possibly want from you? When we first fought, I made it clear that I had my own reasons. I noticed you had a house for me to live in, which meant I wouldn’t have to rent. I saw that you were mature and steady with a stable job, ensuring my sister would feel satisfied and secure.”
Zachary replied bitterly, “Seren, I understand that you married me to put your sister at ease, not because you were after my money or me. I misinterpreted the situation. I was wrong.”
“I’m sorry, Seren. If you want to hit or scold me, I accept that. I recognize I have made a mistake, and I deserve punishment. You can discipline me however you see fit.”
He did not dispute the claims against him.
Serenity glared at him.
“Initially, I concealed my identity to assess your character. Nana insisted on our marriage, but I wanted to know if you were someone I could spend my life with. That’s why I kept my identity hidden and lived with you as if I were an ordinary person.”
“As time went on, I realized you were a good person, and I gradually fell in love with you.”
Zachary attempted to take Serenity’s hand, but she forcefully slapped it away.
“I’m sorry, Seren.”
Serenity looked at him.
After a long pause, she asked, “You wanted to test me initially, but what about afterward? You deceived me for over four months. Four months! Did you only just determine that my character was good?”
“I hesitated to tell you later because I feared you’d leave me once you learned the truth. I was terrified. I didn’t want to lose you.”
Zachary reached for her hand again, but once more, she slapped it away. However, this time he grasped her hand firmly, lifted it to his lips, and kissed it gently.
His dark eyes looked at her with a mix of tenderness and guilt.
“Seren, I was

terrified. In my entire life, I’ve never been as afraid as I was after falling in love with you. I fear losing you. I fear that you’ll sever ties with me.”

Serenity yanked her hand away. “You’re afraid? You don’t appear to be afraid at all. All I know is that you’ve been lying to me. It’s no wonder I had that nightmare; it was God giving me a sign.”

“But I still chose to believe you—foolishly, I believed everything you said. I was so naive, a fool to be manipulated and deceived by you until now.”

“Seren…”

“I don’t want to talk to you right now.”

Serenity interrupted him and stood up, saying coldly, “I need to calm down and consider whether our marriage should continue.”

Then, she turned to leave.

In a state of anger, her emotions were in turmoil. There was no way she could have a rational conversation with him.

She longed to return home, back to her sister and Sonny, where she could heal her heart, which felt wounded by Zachary.

“Seren.”

Zachary quickly got up and followed her, growling as he walked. “I won’t divorce you. Don’t even think about a divorce!”

Serenity ignored him.

If he didn’t want a divorce, she could sue him for one!

After being deceived for so long, Serenity was enraged and genuinely wanted to end the marriage. They were mismatched, after all. He was the powerful young heir of the York family, while she was merely an orphaned owner of a small bookstore.

“Seren.”

Zachary reached out to grab her, but she spun around and aimed to slap his handsome face. However, just as her hand was about to connect with his cheek, she altered her path and struck him hard on the arm instead.

Simultaneously, her foot kicked his knee.

Zachary was caught off guard.

He was caught off guard and was brutally kicked by her. Pain twisted his handsome face. “Seren, if you want to calm down, you can do so in our house. I won’t say a word. I’ll just sit beside you and watch quietly, but you can’t leave!”
