Married at First Sight Chapter 780

Chapter 780
It seems that a relationship between Jasmine and Josh would likely be impossible.
For the sake of Josh’s feelings, they might have to leave Lowe Enterprise with an exit strategy.
“He knows you’re married and that our relationship is stable, yet he continues to pester you. You even mentioned that you two are like siblings. If I hadn’t felt jealous and caused a scene, you might still be unaware of his long-standing romantic feelings for you.”
Zachary cynically tapped Serenity’s forehead.
Serenity rubbed the spot where he poked and defended her innocence, saying, “I’ve known him since childhood and watched him grow up. I always considered him like a little cousin. Who would have thought he had feelings for me?”
“That’s not my fault. I never encouraged him in any way.”
As Serenity hugged his arm and walked outside with him, she added, “Doesn’t his affection for me show that Nana has good taste and chose a wonderful wife for you?”
Zachary couldn’t help but laugh. “Yes, yes. Nana has excellent taste and selected a great wife for me.”
“Exactly. I’m your wonderful wife. With your bad temper, I’m the only one who can put up with you. Any other woman would have caused a scene long ago and given you the cold shoulder indefinitely.”
Zachary thought to himself that if it were any other woman, he might not have ended up married.
“My dear wife, you’ll have to keep tolerating me. We have a long journey ahead. I could live to be a hundred, and you’ll probably reach ninety-five, so you’ll need to endure me for another seventy years.”
Serenity looked at him, breaking her lean against him. “So you expect to live to a hundred, leaving a five-year age gap between us in the end?”
“I’m five years older than you. I’ll be a hundred, and you’ll be…”

“ninety-five. Alive, we’ll be together; even in death, we’ll remain united.”

Serenity was at a loss for words.

What a selfish man he was.

Could she not live to be a hundred while he lived to be a hundred and five? That way, they would both be centenarians.

Upon reflection, she would be satisfied if she could reach the age of ninety-five. She wasn’t greedy; living to eighty would be remarkable enough.

“Zachary, how many admirers do you have?”

“I don’t know.”

“A countless number?”

“Only one has ever confessed to me before, and I naturally rejected her. I honestly have no idea if there are others. If they don’t speak up, how would I know?”

What Zachary said was true.

He genuinely had no idea how many admirers he had. Many claimed he had numerous admirers, but the only one who had confessed to him was Elisa Stone.

Perhaps the others lacked the courage to do so.

“Is that admirer of yours still bothering you? I’ve never heard you mention her before.”

As they exited the elevator, Zachary instinctively placed his arm around her shoulders and replied, “You’ve never asked. When it comes to matters like this, I won’t say anything unless you inquire, for fear of making you jealous.”

“I wouldn’t get jealous. I’m not like you. You’re so narrow-minded, always getting jealous for no reason. Remember how you stubbornly claimed you’d never experienced jealousy and didn’t even know what it felt like? Haha! Looks like you have to eat those words now, huh? You seem to be full from all the words you’ve swallowed, and that’s your own doing.”

Zachary leaned down and gently nibbled at her cheek, his gaze softening. He admitted, “I was stubborn. I fell for you long ago, but…

I wouldn’t admit it, but I was incredibly jealous. Because of you, I’ve experienced many things I never would have otherwise, as well as some that ended up backfiring on me. “I feel like I’m about to be burnt to a crisp from all of this,” I said. Serenity recalled how awkward he was during that time and found it quite amusing. Their relationship was characterized as love-after-marriage, with their feelings for each other growing gradually. They had argued, given each other the silent treatment, and often misunderstood one another. Fortunately, they navigated their relationship crises through open communication, allowing their marriage to endure. “So, who was that admirer who confessed to you before?” Serenity asked, her curiosity shining through.
