Married at First Sight Chapter 777

Chapter 777
While Josh’s proposal had not succeeded, Zachary and his wife were happily immersed in their honeymoon phase.
After dinner, Serenity sat on the sofa watching television while Zachary washed the dishes in the kitchen.
This kind of life made Serenity feel both fulfilled and blissful.
After a moment, she stood up and walked to the kitchen. Leaning against the doorway, she observed Zachary as he washed the dishes.
“Aren’t you going to watch TV anymore?”
Zachary quickly noticed her gaze. He turned his head to glance at her before continuing his dishwashing.
“I don’t really follow any shows, and I’m not sure which ones are good. I didn’t find anything appealing while flipping through the channels either. It seems like TV dramas aren’t as captivating as they used to be; the special effects are excessive. Maybe I’m just getting old, but I can’t seem to get into anything.”
Zachary chuckled and replied, “You’re so young, yet you’re calling yourself old already. You usually come home late, so when would you have time to follow any shows?”
After a brief pause, he added, “I also don’t have time for TV or dramas, but I trust your judgment.”
“We have a film and television company in our group too. I wonder if you’d enjoy watching dramas from our productions.”
“No thanks. I’m not interested. What if I get hooked and end up binge-watching dramas all day instead of being productive? I still have a lot of stock to work through. It’s better for me to spend my time making handicrafts and earning money than to watch dramas.”
Speaking of work, Serenity suddenly turned to Zachary and asked, “Zachary, your mother suggested I take some etiquette classes before. Should I? Does your mom think my behavior and manners need improvement?”

“Is that why she suggested I learn some etiquette?” Zachary neatly arranged the washed dishes and responded, “There’s no such requirement. My mother is very pleased with you. That day, she even wanted me to help out in the kitchen. She’s quite fond of you. If she didn’t like you, she wouldn’t go out of her way like that.”

Even if his mother had some reservations about Serenity, it wouldn’t affect him at all. He wasn’t a mommy’s boy.

“My mother believes you have a wonderful disposition. If you took some etiquette lessons, it would only enhance your skills. There’s no hidden agenda behind her suggestion. Of course, you should only go if you want to. No one will force you. I think you’re great just as you are.”

He had tried to change her before, but that had resulted in a cold war between them. Mrs. Lane had advised him against trying to alter Serenity. The reason being, the Serenity he loved was precisely who she was at this moment. If he were to change her into someone who only revolved around him, idolized him, and lacked her own opinions, he wouldn’t love her anymore.

Thus, he decided to stop trying to change her and instead, wanted to appreciate her as she was. To live a normal life as husband and wife, he focused on improving himself and addressing his shortcomings.

“I wouldn’t mind taking some lessons, but it’s challenging for me to find the time.” After being taken to upper-class gatherings by Jasmine in the past, Serenity realized that her behavior and manners were nowhere near the level of those wealthy young ladies. Previously, she hadn’t cared much, as she never expected to be part of the upper class in this lifetime. What was the point of trying to imitate them?

What about the behaviors of those wealthy young ladies? After considering her mother-in-law’s suggestion and observing the exceptional manners of her in-laws, Serenity started to regard the topic of etiquette with greater seriousness. “If you reduced the number of online orders, you’d have time for etiquette lessons,” she noted. “So, you really do want me to take those classes, don’t you?”
