Elisa accelerated quickly, leaving Remy’s convoy behind. Within two minutes, however, her car came to a stop due to a flat tire, forcing her to pull over for an urgent inspection. How could her tire have gone flat?
As Elisa exited the vehicle, Remy, who was trailing behind, recognized her immediately. His driver also identified Elisa, recalling a previous encounter where he had given her the right of way, a moment that had left an impression.
“Stop,” Remy commanded his driver, who promptly pulled over beside Elisa’s car.
“Ask Ms. Stone what the problem is,” Remy instructed, suspecting that she was there because of Zachary. Having lived in Wiltspoon for many years, Remy was aware of Elisa’s pursuit of Zachary. However, once Zachary announced his marriage to his friends, Elisa had stopped bothering him.
Their meeting today was unexpected. Remy thought to himself, ‘Zachary is just like my older brother. Even though he’s married, he still attracts attention from women.’
The driver followed Remy’s orders, exited the car, and approached Elisa. “What seems to be the issue?” he inquired.
“I have a flat tire. I think I must have run over something sharp,” Elisa replied, squatting down to inspect the damage. Upon closer examination, she identified a sharp object embedded in the tire.
“Is it leaking badly?” the driver asked.
“The tire is deflating quickly, so it’s definitely leaking,” she confirmed.
Elisa chose not to remove the sharp object just yet. Instead, she stood up and pulled out her phone to call for assistance with towing the vehicle. After making the call, she approached Remy’s car window and tapped on it.
Remy opened the curtain to the window. When he saw that it was Elisa…
Elisa watched as he stepped out of the car, surprised to see an unfamiliar face. He clearly did not belong to the elite circle she knew well, which explained why she couldn’t recognize the vehicle.
“Ms. Stone, is there anything I can assist you with?” Remy asked kindly.
“Thank you. I have a flat tire and have already called someone to tow the car,” Elisa replied.
“May I ask your name? I don’t believe I’ve seen you around before,” he inquired.
Remy smiled and said, “My last name is Johnson. I’m from Annenburg but work in Wiltspoon. I’m usually quite busy and rarely attend social events, so it’s understandable that you haven’t encountered me.”
After a brief pause, he added, “However, I notice you quite often, Ms. Stone.”
Elisa thought, ‘The Johnsons from Annenburg?’
She then asked, “Mr. Johnson, do you work for FC & Co. in Annenburg? What position do you hold in the Johnson family?”
“FC & Co. is my family’s business, and I’m the fifth brother,” he replied.
Elisa pondered, ‘Ah, so he’s the fifth son of the Johnson family.’
‘No wonder he attracts attention like Zachary and piques my curiosity.’
It made sense that Remy was the fifth son of the Johnson family. Among the Johnson brothers in Annenburg, he was the most flamboyant, often accompanied by a group of bodyguards for protection, as he was the least skilled in martial arts compared to his siblings.
