Married at First Sight Chapter 599

Chapter 599
The group had just pushed their way into the crowd when Serenity shouted, “Liberty!”
Sonny called for her mother.
It was easy for Serenity to assess the situation when she spotted Chelsea and her mother, as well as her sister’s disheveled appearance. Clearly, she was agitated.
Handing Sonny over to her sister, Serenity rolled up her sleeves, ready to confront the issue.
“Seren.”
Mrs. Stone quickly intervened, preventing Serenity from stepping in to defend her sister. “Seren, let the police handle this.”
The police had already been called, and it wouldn’t reflect well on Serenity to engage in a fight while they were present.
“Mr. Stone. Mrs. Stone.”
Duncan was taken aback to see the Stones and, out of respect, approached them to say hello.
Mr. and Mrs. Stone exchanged pleasantries with Duncan.
Mrs. Stone inquired, “What’s happening here, Mr. Lewis?”
Duncan responded, “Let’s let the police take their statements at the station, Mrs. Stone.”
He then addressed the officers, saying, “Officer, my employee has endured enough. Her former in-laws came here to create trouble, despite her separation from her husband. It’s evident she was often abused prior to the divorce.”
“Please ensure justice for my employee.” Knowing Duncan had no intention of reconciliation, the officers took both parties to the station.
Duncan and the Stone family followed suit.
After learning the details of the altercation while driving her sister to the station, Serenity couldn’t hold back. “That family is trash. I would have beaten them to a pulp if I had gotten here sooner.”
“Don’t accept their apology, Liberty. Let the police keep them in custody.”
Liberty held her son tightly and replied, “I won’t accept their apology. They crossed the line this time! They demanded I pay the money.”

that Granddad extorted from them.” Serenity remarked, “Your former mother-in-law is utterly foolish. I can’t believe she sought out Granddad to convince you against getting a divorce. Only that family would dare to ask your former mother-in-law for money.”

“After your divorce from Hank, your former mother-in-law must have felt her finances were wasted, so she confronted Granddad. The old man never backs down from an argument. They probably viewed you as an easy target and decided to test their luck,” Serenity continued.

Liberty responded, “I suspected they would give me a hard time post-divorce. That’s why I rented a place and kept the address secret, plus I blocked their numbers. I never imagined they would wait for me at my office. I bet Hank told them.”

Only Hank knew that she was employed at Lewis & Co.

“They’ll tone down their arrogance once they’ve faced some jail time. I wish the entire family could be locked up,” Serenity expressed bitterly.

The sisters were not inclined to push people around, but that didn’t mean they were pushovers.

Although Liberty and Hank were divorced and had divided their assets, Liberty would still have to interact with Hank’s family due to their shared custody of Sonny. It was unnecessary to become adversaries and create more chaos.

The Browns believed Liberty’s relatives should have done more to dissuade her from the divorce and thought Liberty would pay to avoid further trouble.

The group arrived at the station ten minutes later.

Chelsea and her mother were terrified. They immediately called Hank and Mr. Brown on their way, asking them to come to the station.

Once at the station, the mother and daughter repeatedly apologized to Liberty, pleading with her not to press charges. Mrs. Brown even brought Sonny into the

“Liberty, Chelsea, and I were mistaken. Regardless of the circumstances, I am Sonny’s grandmother. Please forgive us for Sonny’s sake. I assure you we won’t interfere with you again.” She then pulled her daughter, nudging Chelsea to apologize to Liberty once more.
