Married at First Sight Chapter 566

Chapter 566
Feeling sympathetic, Alice embraced Elisa and offered her comfort. “Elisa, it’s time to stop longing for him since Zachary is married. He’s not the only good man in the world. You’ll find someone even better once you let go of him.”
“You’re an amazing person, Elisa. Don’t be hard on yourself just because Zachary doesn’t feel the same way. Trust me, forget about him. Your brother and I will help you find a man who is a better match for you.”
“I promise you’ll be happier than you would be with Zachary. Being with a stoic man like him might not be all sunshine and roses. Just think about it—who wants to be with someone so distant?”
Elisa bit her lip, determined not to cry.
Concerned that Elisa might hurt herself with her biting, Alice started talking about her husband. “Clive can be such a jerk, making me cranky first thing in the morning. Please don’t do that to yourself, Elisa. You’ll only end up hurting yourself.”
“It’s okay to cry if you’re feeling sad. Let it all out. I’m not just a bystander; you’ll feel better after you cry.”
“How about we go shopping? We can buy anything and everything you desire. Why not have some fun with your friends?”
Elisa lifted her arm to wipe her eyes and eased the pressure on her bottom lip. She attempted a smile, but it looked worse than her crying face.
She replied, “I’m fine, Alice. I already knew. I realized it when I saw the wedding ring on Zachary’s finger the other day.”
“You’re right. There are so many good men out there. Zachary isn’t the only one. He doesn’t have to be the one for me. I don’t want to love him anymore since he belongs to someone else. This is good—I can finally move on.”
Elisa had cried in her brother’s arms when she first saw Zachary wearing the ring. Now, there were no more tears left to shed.

There was no point in crying over it anyway. Elisa would sob for days if it would make Zachary single again. “Are you really not going to cry, Elisa? You’d feel better after letting it all out,” her sister-in-law asked. Elisa looked at her, torn between tears and laughter. “Do you genuinely want to see me cry, Alice?”

“I don’t want you to bottle up your feelings. It would help you to release those pent-up emotions,” Alice explained. “I’ve already cried for him,” Elisa replied. She picked up her sister-in-law’s phone again, gazing at the photo for a long moment before saying, “I wonder who managed to capture Zachary’s heart and convince him to marry her. She must be beautiful and kind.”

It takes a tender heart to triumph over callousness. “I have a fiery temper and a strong will. It’s no surprise Zachary doesn’t like me,” Elisa said. “No, Elisa. You’re a wonderful person. I admire your character. It’s just that it’s not meant to be since Zachary doesn’t feel the same way. That’s okay. Your Mr. Right is out there somewhere, waiting for you. He’ll come into your life once you take your focus off Zachary,” Alice reassured her.

Elisa burst into laughter. “Alice, you don’t have to strain to find words to comfort me. My world would have crumbled if I had discovered today that Zachary is married, but I found out earlier. I haven’t pestered him and have stopped thinking about him for a while.

“Though I haven’t completely let him go, I have my pride. Now that he has a wife, I can move on. I won’t pursue what isn’t mine. If he were to stray from his marriage, he’d be a man who can’t keep his vows, and I wouldn’t want to love someone like that.”

Elisa’s laughter brought a small sense of relief to Alice.

Relieved, Alice reached out and gently ran her fingers through Elisa’s hair as she said, “Do you know what I like most about you, Elisa? You’re a bit willful and fiery, but you have a good heart.”
