Married at First Sight Chapter 457

Chapter 457
Zachary remained silent, allowing his brothers to clear the way for Hank.
Hank quickly led his parents into the ward.
Liberty embraced Sonny, removed the ice pack, and allowed Hank to examine Sonny’s face. Despite having applied ice for a while, Sonny’s face remained red and swollen.
A child’s skin is delicate, making it slow to heal after an injury, especially one as severe as the beating Matthew had given him.
Seeing his son’s swollen face and fearful eyes, which were once clear and bright, Hank felt a wave of distress and cursed Matthew. Although he had rarely spent time with his son, this sight broke his heart.
“How could Matthew do this?! I truly regret the time I spent raising him.”
Mrs. Brown reached out to touch Sonny’s face, but he was so frightened that he immediately turned away and buried his head in his mother’s arms, clutching her shirt tightly with both hands as he screamed in terror, “Mommy! Mommy!”
Liberty swatted her mother-in-law’s hand away and said coldly, “Sonny is scared of you, so don’t touch him.”
“That brat Matthew! I’ll go home and teach him a lesson! I didn’t raise him all these years for him to hurt my grandson!”
Mr. Brown, feeling sorry for his grandson, was filled with anger.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown had been helping their daughter care for her three children for many years.
She had convinced them to stay with her since they refused to relocate to the city with their son, and her home was closer to them.
Chelsea made it appear as if she was looking after them, but in reality, she just wanted her parents to look after her children.
Chelsea’s in-laws made it clear that babysitting was not their responsibility and that the children were solely Chelsea and her husband’s obligation.
Consequently, Mr. and Mrs. Brown dedicated their time to caring for their three grandchildren.

They gave their all, contributing both effort and even money from the living expenses Hank provided them. Consequently, the grandson they raised ended up abusing their paternal grandson. Mr. Brown suddenly perceived Matthew as an ingrate. After comforting Sonny, Liberty asked her in-laws, “Are you satisfied with Sonny being like this? You haven’t cared for him since he was born. When you took him away, you didn’t even bother to look after him. Do you think he’s a kitten or a puppy? Even a pet needs care to survive.” Mr. and Mrs. Brown were left speechless.

It took a moment before Hank spoke, “This… this is an accident. None of us wanted this to happen. My niece said Sonny hit Lucas first, which is why Matthew retaliated.” Liberty suddenly stood up and kicked Hank, cursing at him. “Do you believe her? Sonny never hits anyone. Lucas must have hit Sonny first, and Sonny only fought back. Then Lucas pretended to cry and got Matthew to help him against Sonny.” Liberty understood the personalities of Chelsea’s three children, which is why she had firmly declined Hank’s request to assist Chelsea in caring for her kids.

Whenever Lucas visited her home, he would bully Sonny and steal his toys. If Lucas was in his own home, he would undoubtedly become even more unruly and torment Sonny further. Although Liberty kicked Hank, he didn’t dare retaliate, knowing she had backup just outside. He recalled that Zachary had many brothers, having shared a meal with them once. During that time, Hank and Kevin had been chatting happily, and he never expected to encounter Zachary’s brothers again under these circumstances. “Sonny… will you come to Daddy?” Hank stopped defending his nephew and attempted to embrace his son.
