Married at First Sight Chapter 447

Chapter 447

Liberty didn’t own a car, so after asking Serenity and Zachary to search for Sonny, she went to confront Hank. However, she was alone, and Hank’s family was present, leaving her outnumbered. Fortunately, Grandma May and Mrs. Lane arrived to support her.

Just then, Hank pulled out the divorce agreement he had drafted the previous night and said, “Liberty, I acknowledge that I wronged you, and I understand that you can’t forgive me. Since we are no longer in love, this marriage cannot continue. Let’s divorce.”

“This is the divorce agreement I wrote. Please review it. If everything looks good, we can sign it and finalize the process at City Hall on Monday.”

With a cold expression, Liberty took the divorce agreement. As she read it, anger surged within her, making her want to tear Hank apart.

Grandma May glanced at the divorce agreement Hank had written. After reading it, she took a few deep breaths to calm her rising anger. The Browns were truly despicable!

Noticing Liberty’s distressed expression, Hank insensitively remarked, “I purchased this house as my personal property before our marriage. The title deed has only my name on it, which means the house is mine. I bought the car as well, so that belongs to me too.”

“Although you have a job now, you just started and haven’t passed your probation, so you can’t demonstrate a stable income. I’m willing to make a small sacrifice and take over custody of Sonny. From now on, you will only need to provide two thousand dollars a month for his living expenses.”

“Sonny is only two years old and still needs formula and diapers at night. He’ll start kindergarten when he turns three, and tuition fees keep rising every year. Even though elementary and junior high are free, you’ll need to consider expenses for high school and college as he grows up. I’ll have to…”

Buy him a house and assist him in preparing a bridal gift. All of this requires money.

“I’m taking custody of Sonny and I’m only asking you to pay two thousand dollars in alimony. That’s a fair deal for you. As Sonny’s father, I have no choice but to shoulder this responsibility.

“I have many monthly expenses and not much in savings, but I’m willing to share half of it with you, which amounts to thirty thousand dollars.”

Liberty was aware that divorced couples often found themselves at odds, as neither party wanted to compromise. A couple that once shared a bed could quickly become adversaries.

She didn’t want to be in conflict with Hank, but he had crossed a line.

Taking a deep breath, Liberty ripped up the divorce agreement that Hank had drafted and tossed the shredded pieces at him. “Hank Brown! We are definitely getting a divorce, but not like this. Do you really think you can dismiss me with thirty thousand dollars? Absolutely not!

“I won’t fight over your car or house, but since you’ve used your salary to pay off the mortgage after we got married, that’s our joint property. I expect compensation for that. I have a rough idea of your savings, so don’t think you can deceive me with thirty thousand dollars!

“We’ve known each other for twelve years and have been married for over three. For Sonny’s sake, I didn’t want to create a big scene. But you have taken Sonny from me, and I will not tolerate it any longer! I will fight for everything I’m entitled to, but I won’t take a single extra penny from you.

“I covered the renovation costs for the house, and I made it clear long ago that you would need to repay me if you wanted a divorce.”

Hank shamelessly replied, “I also told you that you voluntarily paid for the renovations, so I won’t give you a dime for that. If you feel you’ve been wronged, you can take away…

“Those tiles!”

Liberty shot him a cold glare and replied, “Fine! If you refuse to reimburse me, I’ll find my own way to recover my renovation costs.”

“You claim you’re sacrificing yourself by seeking custody of Sonny. If that’s how you feel, then you can hand over Sonny’s custody to me. I’m not afraid to make sacrifices for my son!”

“Absolutely not! Sonny is my grandson, and he must remain with us!” Mr. Brown asserted.

Mrs. Brown added, “Don’t even think for a second that you can take Sonny! He’s my grandson! He’s a Brown!”

Chelsea yelled, “Hank, this is your house! Since you’re getting a divorce, you need to kick her out immediately! She can’t stay here any longer. If she doesn’t leave, charge her rent.”

Chelsea thought, ‘That fat b*tch! How dare you treat me like this?! I won’t let you have your way!’

‘Sonny will live with my parents in the future, and they’ll be at my house. That means Sonny will be here too. Since Liberty treated me this way, I’ll make Sonny pay for it and force Liberty to kneel and beg for my forgiveness.’
