“…and doesn’t see me.”
“Liberty, I’ll go with you.”
“No need.”
“There are two of them! If you go alone and a fight breaks out, you’ll be at a disadvantage. Just send me the hotel location, and I’ll come with you. I can fight better than you, so I can handle them!” Liberty replied, “Seren, trust me. I can do this myself. I’ll head out first, so remember to come over and watch Sonny.” She hung up the phone. “Liberty!” Serenity called after her, but Liberty didn’t stop. She quickly slid out of bed, put on her shoes, and hurried out of the room.
Serenity moved quickly, making some noise that alerted Zachary, who was in his room. Zachary emerged and saw Serenity rushing out the door.
“Serenity!” he instinctively shouted, trying to stop her.
She halted, took a few steps back, and returned to the house.
“Mr. York? You’re not asleep yet? I have an urgent matter and need to leave now.”
Serenity wanted to exit immediately after saying that.
Zachary quickly strode over. “Serenity.” He dashed out of the house and grabbed her just as she was about to enter the elevator. His expression was serious as he asked coldly, “Where are you going at this hour? Can’t you wait until dawn to handle urgent matters? You had a few drinks, so if you drive now, you’ll be driving under the influence. You can’t go alone!”
After a brief pause, he added, “If you must go, I’ll accompany you!”
“Hank is with his mistress, and my sister wants to catch them in the act, so she asked me to look after Sonny while she’s out. I’m worried about my sister, so I have to go check it out. Mr. York, since you’re awake, please help me wake Mrs. Lane and send her over to take care of Sonny.”
