Married at First Sight Chapter 385

Chapter 385
Zachary removed his suit jacket and handed it to Serenity. “Put this on and take a nap.”
Since they were no longer at the beach, Serenity accepted the jacket and wrapped it around herself before settling down for a nap.
Zachary turned off the music in the car to avoid disturbing her.
He drove in silence while Serenity slept. After a while, they arrived at Brynfield.
The bodyguards were loitering in the lobby, anxious because their boss had been out of sight all night. When they saw Mrs. Lane return with the missus’ pets, they realized their boss had taken his wife for a drive. Though they felt uneasy, none of them dared to contact Zachary for fear of intruding on the couple’s privacy. As soon as they spotted Zachary’s car, they quickly scattered, worried that the missus might notice them.
Jim ran the fastest, nearly diving into the bushes.
This was because the missus could easily recognize him.
Zachary feigned ignorance of the bodyguards’ reaction, while Serenity remained blissfully unaware. Otherwise, she might have noticed that the bodyguards usually lingered in the lobby every day. Zachary parked the car, unbuckled his seatbelt, and called out, “Serenity, we’re home.”
Serenity remained sound asleep, oblivious to his voice.
It was likely due to the two beers she had consumed.
Zachary nudged her twice, but she simply rolled to the side, showing no signs of waking up.
Zachary got out of the car, walked to the passenger side, and opened the door. He leaned in, unfastened Serenity’s seatbelt, and lifted her into his arms to carry her out of the car.
The bodyguards, who had dispersed but remained close, observed this scene.

The scene unfolded as the bodyguards rubbed their eyes in disbelief. After confirming that what they had witnessed was indeed real, they quickly turned and rushed back to their apartments in the same building to rest. It appeared that the boss and his wife were doing well.

Zachary carried Serenity upstairs and rang the doorbell to their house. Soon after, Mrs. Lane answered the door. “Mr. Z–York, what happened to Ms. Hunt?” she inquired, almost addressing him as Mr. Zachary again.

“She had two bottles of beer and fell fast asleep,” Zachary replied as he carried Serenity into the room.

Mrs. Lane quickly grasped the situation. She closed the door and locked it. “Mr. York, do you need my assistance?” she asked, approaching him.

“Just open the door to her room for me,” Zachary requested, gesturing for Mrs. Lane to help him access Serenity’s room.

Mrs. Lane complied without hesitation.

“Mrs. Lane, you can return to your room now. She won’t cause any trouble; she’ll be sound asleep due to the alcohol,” Zachary assured her. Mrs. Lane nodded and turned to go back.

Even if Serenity did stir, Zachary felt confident he could manage it. He walked to the bed, gently placed Serenity down, and helped her remove her shoes. He tenderly pulled the quilt over her before standing up to leave. As he turned to walk away, he suddenly remembered something important. He bent down and kissed Serenity’s lips softly. After stealing that kiss, Zachary walked away with a satisfied smile.

Just as he reached the door, he paused again. Given that Serenity was in such a deep sleep, he realized it was the perfect moment to retrieve her copy of the agreement.
