Married at First Sight Chapter 364

Chapter 364
Mrs. Lane smiled as she observed Serenity eating with such enthusiasm. Watching her made Mrs. Lane feel hungry as well, prompting her to stop focusing on Zachary and join in the meal with gusto.
After the meal, while Mrs. Lane took the dishes to the kitchen to wash them, Serenity pulled up a chair and slowly approached Zachary.
Zachary immediately straightened up, resembling a defensive hedgehog.
This time, however, he wasn’t on guard against her; rather, he felt nervous and unsure of what his wife intended.
“Mr. York, we have a guest room, but there’s no bed. After we pick up Sonny later, we’ll send Mrs. Lane and Sonny back to the store. We need to buy a bed and sheets for her; we can’t let her sleep on the floor.”
Instantly, the hedgehog’s quills relaxed. “You’re the lady of the house. You can arrange it however you like.” Zachary had an important meeting this morning and couldn’t spare the time to accompany Serenity to shop for bedding.
“Have you run out of the ten thousand I gave you earlier? When I get to the office later, I’ll transfer some money to the living-expenses card. Even though we hired Mrs. Lane as a nanny for Sonny, we can’t treat her poorly. Buy a higher-quality bed and cabinet. Don’t hesitate to spend the money.”
“I haven’t used up the money, so there’s no need to transfer more. There’s enough left to buy furniture for Mrs. Lane. Don’t worry; I’m not the type to mistreat the nanny.” Serenity’s face flushed slightly when he mentioned the living-expenses bank card.
During their cold war, she had been upset and went on a shopping spree, using the card meant for living expenses, which resulted in her spending a significant amount of his money.
Serenity resolved to use her own money later when she…

She went shopping to compensate for her misuse of the living-expenses card. In their family, both the husband and wife were expected to contribute. She would never take advantage of him, nor would he scheme against her. They coexisted peacefully and treated each other with respect, like guests in their own home. Zachary’s face was gentle, but his eyes resembled an unfathomable abyss when he looked at her. Yet, he remained silent.

Serenity was accustomed to his habit of silently staring at her; in fact, she would find it unusual if he spoke more. Zachary continued to be speechless. “Oh, it’s getting late. We need to hurry to pick up Sonny from my sister’s place. She has to go to work,” he said. Liberty was riding her own bike to work today, so there was no need to drop her off.

Zachary hummed and stood up, making his way back to his room. He soon reappeared, holding an extra suit jacket and a tie. He simply held them in his hands, neither tying the tie nor putting on the jacket. Serenity waited for Mrs. Lane by the kitchen door. Perhaps due to Zachary’s intense gaze, she noticed him staring and blinked, smiling at him before turning back to Mrs. Lane.

Seeing that Mrs. Lane had finished washing the dishes, she said with a smile, “We have to go now, Mrs. Lane. Your primary job during the day is to take care of my two-year-old nephew, Sonny. He can be very obedient when he wants to be, but just as mischievous when he feels like it.”

Mrs. Lane removed her apron and laughed as she walked out. “All children are like that.” When Sam arranged for her to come over, he clearly outlined her responsibilities. Zachary promised to increase her pay as long as she performed her duties well. He remained standing there with his jacket in hand.

and bound his hands. Serenity was unsure of his desires, but Mrs. Lane was aware.

She leaned in and whispered something to Serenity.

Immediately, Serenity turned her gaze to Zachary.

“Is that what he wants?”

“But I have no idea how to help a man tie a tie. Is it too late to look up the steps online and learn now?”
