Married at First Sight Chapter 1072

Chapter 1072
One of the men waited for her to finish vomiting before handing her a mask.
Jessica quickly put on the mask, but the stench still permeated through it. She instinctively covered her mouth and nose with her hand and followed the two men into the unfinished building.
Once inside the building and away from the garbage dumps, she lowered her hand from her face. She glanced around, surveying her surroundings. There were no signs of life nearby. No one would discover her if something unfortunate were to happen, leaving her body to decompose in solitude.
This thought sent another shiver down her spine.
She had no idea who these men were. Since the Hunt sisters had wronged them, they should be looking for the Hunt sisters, not her.
After all, she was also an enemy of the Hunt sisters.
“Don’t be afraid, Ms. Yates. I instructed them to bring you here because I want to discuss a deal with you. Let’s join forces to take revenge on Mrs. York.”
An unfamiliar woman’s voice echoed from a room on the first floor, though her figure remained hidden.
Jessica hesitated to enter the room, as the two men who had brought her there were still watching her intently.
She felt a slight relief upon hearing those words. It appeared that the woman was targeting Serenity.
“How should I address you, miss? What kind of deal are you proposing? I’m merely a housewife without a job. My family and my husband’s family lack social status, so I’m afraid I can’t be of assistance.”
The woman chuckled. “There’s no need to be modest, Ms. Yates. I did my research before reaching out to you. You have a grievance against Mrs. York too, don’t you? It just so happens that I also have a vendetta against her. Since we share a common enemy, why don’t we…?”

“Not work together?” Jessica took a moment to calm her thoughts and asked, “What do you want me to do? Serenity is now the eldest missus of the York family. Her partner is not someone to be trifled with. I feel weak in his presence and wouldn’t dare speak to him. Asking me to do something to Serenity is akin to asking me to sign my own death warrant.”

“I’m not asking you to go after Serenity directly. You can start with Sonny,” came the reply.

“Sonny?” Jessica suddenly recalled Hank and Liberty’s son. Her heart raced as she questioned, “You… want me to kill Sonny?”

After Hank and Liberty’s divorce, the Brown family’s focus on Sonny intensified. Olivia often referred to him as the only one who could carry on the Brown family name, highlighting how precious he was to them. In truth, she was just ridiculing Jessica for not becoming pregnant despite being with Hank for an extended period.

Jessica felt resentment and relief that she had assisted Liberty by persuading Hank to relinquish custody of Sonny. Otherwise, she would have been infuriated watching the Brown family pamper Sonny day in and day out.

Yet, despite her frustration with the Brown family’s treatment of Sonny, she had never contemplated harming the child before.

“I never said to kill him. Just listen to my plan. Don’t your in-laws want to bring Sonny back from Liberty? You need to persuade your husband and mother-in-law to reclaim Sonny for your family.”

“Then, you and Hank can take Sonny to a busy place, like a zoo or amusement park. It’s easy for kids to get lost there. I’ll arrange for someone to take Sonny away. It will look like an accident; no one will suspect you intended to harm him.”

“You want to kidnap Sonny? If you’re trying to get back at Serenity…”

“Then pursue her. Why would you kidnap Sonny? He’s an innocent child who knows nothing. If your men are rough and accidentally kill him…”

“Wouldn’t that be better? Without Sonny, the son you’ll eventually have will be the only one to carry on the Brown family line, inheriting all the family assets. Although you may not have many assets now, if you agree to cooperate with me, I can arrange for your husband to secure a managerial position at a large company outside the city, earning over a million annually.”

“If your husband performs well for a decade or two, your family will amass a fortune for your son to inherit. There would be no need to share the inheritance with Sonny. How wonderful is that?”

Jessica felt pale. Who was this woman in the room, and how could she treat human life so casually? Was she involved in the underworld?
