Married at First Sight Chapter 1009

Chapter 1009
“Go back to your room and change out of your dress.”
Zachary intended to pick Serenity up as he spoke, but she stopped him.
“I can walk.”
Serenity stood up, her legs feeling much better after Zachary’s massage.
“Seren, you won’t even give me a chance to show off. I want to strengthen my arms. Carrying you around is a good way to train.”
Serenity playfully pinched his face. “What do you mean you want to train your arm strength? You work out every day. Let’s just go to sleep.”
“I’ll draw a bath for you.”
Instead of carrying her back to the room, Zachary went ahead to prepare the bath. He then brought her pajamas so she could be comfortable after soaking in the hot water.
Once she finished her bath, Serenity climbed into bed beside Zachary. Suddenly remembering something, she propped herself up and kissed him twice on the cheek. “Good night, Babe.”
Zachary returned the gesture. “Good night. Sweet dreams.”
“I rarely have nightmares.”
Serenity lay down and instinctively snuggled into his arms.
Zachary held his beloved wife close and drifted off to sleep contentedly.
The next day, the couple returned to work.
Meanwhile, Tania, who was at Wildridge Manor, received a call from someone she had played cards with several times.
“Mrs. York.”
The caller said to Tania, “Your daughter-in-law is quite nosy, isn’t she? She even meddled in other families’ affairs. She could easily offend someone by doing that.”
Tania was taken aback and asked, “What do you mean my daughter-in-law is nosy? Whose family affairs did she interfere with? Did she offend you?”
“Don’t…”

Did you know that your daughter-in-law attended the Dowling family’s banquet last night? She went with Mrs. Stone instead of joining her mother-in-law. Is there some tension between the two of you?

“I didn’t attend the Dowlings’ banquet, but honestly, the Dowlings’ status isn’t high enough for your daughter-in-law to warrant attending. Even if she comes from humble beginnings, she is now the eldest missus of the York family after marrying your son. She should be socializing with the upper class, not a middle-class family like the Dowlings.

“While she hasn’t offended me, she did upset Mrs. Newman. That’s what I’ve heard from others. The second daughter of the Newmans, Ms. Carrie, targeted her elder sister and tried to make her drink a glass of wine. Your daughter-in-law intervened and stopped Ms. Carrie from forcing Ms. Camryn to drink. Ultimately, she ended up making Ms. Carrie drink the wine instead.

“Shortly after that, Ms. Carrie claimed she was feeling hot and attempted to undress. Mrs. Newman was both heartbroken and furious; she probably despises your daughter-in-law now. It’s common knowledge that the Newman sisters don’t get along, but that’s between them. It’s no surprise your daughter-in-law managed to offend Mrs. Newman with her interference.”
