The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 497

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 497

Chapter 497

Larissa typed back to Prodigal Prince: [Oh, birds of a feather flock together. It’s a perfect match. I never trusted Finley’s taste in directors anyway. Glad to see your master, Mr. Lincoln, is taking out my trash for me.]

Prodigal Prince: [Are you calling Benedict trash?]

Larissa: [And I’m calling you a dog.]

Prodigal Prince: [Keep running your mouth, Larissa! I’ll just consider it practice for when you’re licking my boots in two months. I’ll be sure to pick out my dirtiest pair just for you.]

Larissa: [A dog’s gotta bark. When you lose our bet, I guess I’ll have to get you two leashes to keep you in line.]

Milton went silent. But Avril popped up.

Avril’s Joy: [Hahaha, Larissa, your comebacks are always so vicious! I love it!]

Most of the group members were just silent spectators now. With Haskell on one side and Lucius on the other, none of the smaller players dared to take a side in the titans‘ clash.

A moment later, a private message from Avril came through.

[Larissa, sorry for the radio silence, been super busy the last couple days. Just wanted to give you an update on Torrin Dillon.]

[He told me he’s going to work hard to become a better man for you. He begged his sister to let him work at their family company.]

[But it looks like Ms. Dillon wasn’t having it. She gave him a million dollars and told him to start his own business. If he succeeds, great. If he blows it all, he can come back home and live as a kept man. Pretty obvious she doesn’t want to share power with her brother!]

[Even Torrin is starting a business! It’s inspired me. I’m thinking of opening an anime merch shop right next to my parents‘ private school! What do you think?]

Larissa replied: [That’s a great idea. You’ll have a built–in customer base. I had no idea you were into that stuff.]

Avril sent a photo of her room. The walls and shelves were covered in badges, acrylic stands, art cards, and other merchandise.

[Hehe, my room is a shrine to my favorites! So it’s decided! I’m opening a merch shop!]

Larissa sent back a quick [Good luck!] before closing the chat and opening her conversation with

Haskell.

[Haskell, what are you up to? Haven’t heard from you all evening.]

In a private room at the Neverending Night club, Milton stared at Larissa’s replies, his knuckles white.

“Damn it!” he seethed, nearly throwing his phone across the room. “That bitch! If it wasn’t for Haskell,

I’d have dealt with her myself by now!”

Lucius frowned, his voice laced with annoyance. “Larissa still has time to trade insults with you in a group chat?”

Milton quickly pocketed his phone and turned to Lucius, his anger replaced by a fawning smile. “Of course she does, Mr. Lincoln. What else can she do? You’ve got her backed into a corner. All she has left is empty talk!”

Lucius shot him a cold glance. “What about Avril?”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Lincoln. I have people watching her. The second an opportunity presents itself, we’ll grab her.”

“See that you do. The ‘Mystique Blossom‘ gala will be here before you know it,” Lucius said, taking a sip of red wine, his eyes glinting with malice.

He was tired of being undermined. First by Haskell, and now by Larissa, Avril, and even the Dillons. It was time to reassert his dominance.

“Rest assured,” Milton promised. “I’ll have her within a month.”
