But a simple kiss wasn’t enough. A voice inside him cried out for more.
Haskell wrapped an arm around Larissa’s waist, pulling her into his lap.
“Larissa,” he murmured, his voice soft, “I know you weren’t finished just now.”
Larissa settled into his embrace without a struggle, meeting his intense gaze with a bold, unflinching stare. “You’re right, I wasn’t,” she admitted freely. “I was waiting for you to make a mover
She paused, then added, “This time, it has to be longer.”
“As you wish,” Haskell chuckled, then lowered his head and kissed her.
Larissa closed her eyes, surrendering to the sensation. She wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but her head began to feel light, her lungs burning for air.
As if sensing her need, Haskell ended the kiss the very moment she opened her eyes. His arm remained firmly around her waist.
“Was that enough?” he asked, his voice low and husky.
Larissa’s smile was dazzling. “It’ll do. An improvement on last time.”
As she started to pull away, Larissa noticed three sets of eyes fixed on them. Haskell sensed it too. He followed her gaze and saw three small, brightly colored snakes on the bed, staring intently in their
direction.
Haskell froze. He knew she could control venomous creatures, but he was still surprised to find three of them in her room. Their gaze was unnervingly intelligent, filled with a curious scrutiny.
Larissa sighed, half–exasperated, half–amused. “Shadow, Snowy, Sage, haven’t you ever heard of giving people some privacy?”
Sage shook its head, then pointed its tiny, sharp tail at Haskell before forming a heart shape with its body next to Snowy.
Haskell blinked.
Larissa nodded at the snake. “That’s right. He’s the one I love.”
Sage seemed to have an epiphany and immediately turned to communicate with Shadow and Snowy. Snowy bobbed its head in agreement. Even the usually stoic Shadow nodded along.
Haskell was dumbfounded.
“Are they… communicating?” he asked, a note of disbelief in his voice.
Larissa laughed. “Yes. They’re saying that you must be the person I’m always kissing in my dreams.”
“Incredible,” Haskell breathed, his eyes filled with a tender, smoldering affection. “So, you have been taking advantage of me in your dreams? More than once, it seems.”
Larissa didn’t deny it. She sat beside him and lifted his leg onto her lap, rolling up his pant leg. She gently probed the muscles around his knee.

“More than once, yes, but only twice,” she confessed. “It’s not like I’m constantly having scandalous
dreams about you!”
Haskell let her work on his leg, feeling a growing strength return to the muscles.
“So you were just quenching your ‘thirst‘ by dreaming of me?” he teased.
After confirming that her treatments had significantly reduced the pain in his joints, Larissa pulled out her needle case.
“Well, I’d rather quench my thirst directly,” she retorted playfully. “But you’re the one who insisted on being responsible and waiting until we’re married.”
Haskell’s expression turned serious. “I want to give you the best experience,” he said, his voice sincere. “Being unable to use my legs would definitely affect my performance.”
His words made her laugh. “Oh, I’m well aware of your noble intentions, Haskell.” She paused, a curious look on her face. “By the way, have you ever dreamed of me?”
“Of course,” he said, his gaze intensifying. “The very first night after I came back from finding you in Spire Village, I dreamed of you.”
Larissa hadn’t expected that. “Tsk, tsk. Dreaming of me right after we met. So… what did you dream about?”
