The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 316

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 316

Chapter 316

“…Right,” Finley mumbled, his eyes hollow.

After watching Honora leave the auction house, he turned his gaze toward the Midnight Suite where Larissa sat. Taking a deep breath, he squared his shoulders and began walking toward her.

…

Honora didn’t return to the Judson estate. Instead, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

“I have a problem,” she snapped into the phone. “You know people in shady circles. That little bitch Larissa poisoned me, and my face is ruined. Find me a solution, now, or you’ll never see another cent from me!”

“What? Poisoned? That damn bitch!” the man on the other end cursed, then quickly reassured her. “Don’t worry, I’ll figure something out.”

“And one more thing,” Honora added, her voice dripping with venom. “Find someone with a lot of blood on their hands and have them kill Larissa.”

“But you said making a move on her now would draw suspicion to you.”

“I don’t care anymore! If you ever want money from me again, get this done, and make sure it can’t be traced back to me!”

“I understand, my dear daughter. Leave it to me!”

This time, Honora didn’t even flinch at being called his daughter. She hung up and glanced back at the auction house, her eyes burning with pure hatred.

“Larissa, if I can’t have my face back, then you can have death.”

By the time the second item was auctioned, Finley had arrived at the Midnight Suite.

“Can I talk to you?” he asked, his voice devoid of energy, as if his soul had been ripped from his body.

Avril looked from Finley to Larissa, waiting to see how she would react.

Larissa raised an eyebrow. “Just you? Where’s Honora?”

Finley’s lips trembled, and he lowered his eyes. “I sent her home…”

“Figured what you had to say wasn’t for her ears, so you sent her away?” Larissa said with a knowing smirk.

Finley knew Larissa was sharp–tongued and intelligent. This time, he didn’t argue. He simply stood there in silence, accepting her mockery.

Seeing that Larissa wasn’t turning him away, Avril asked, “Larissa, should I step out?”

“No need,” Larissa replied nonchalantly. “I have nothing to hide. Whether Finley does or not is none of my concern.”

A flicker of hope ignited in Finley’s eyes.

“Before we talk, Finley, you have to do something for me,” Larissa said. “Garrick left with a woman earlier. I couldn’t see her clearly, but she seemed quite beautiful. I’m thinking of signing her to Starlight Media once I take over, so I need you to go rescue her for me.”

Finley froze. Larissa’s intention was clear: she was pitting him against Garrick. No matter which of them got hurt, she would be pleased.

But he was out of options. Just hours ago, he had defied her, not knowing she held his life in her

hands.

“…Fine. I understand,” he said, then turned and left without another word.

Avril stared after him, dumbfounded. “Larissa, you’re incredible! Just a short while ago, Finley looked

like he wanted you dead, and now he’s acting like your loyal servant.”

Then, a thought struck her. “Wait… is the poison expert he was talking about… you?”
