The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 295

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 295

Chapter 295

Vivica knew immediately what this was about. Kiernan was here to make Josette honor her bet with

Larissa.

“He really has lost his mind!” she thought. “Does he actually intend to make his own daughter kneel before his granddaughter?”

This only solidified her theory from the previous night. Kiernan had to be under Larissa’s control.

Vivica sat down on the sofa opposite him. “Josette and Jagger went back to the Lincoln estate after the party last night.”

Kiernan snorted. “Back to the Lincoln estate? Did she forget her bet with Larissa? She was the one who was so sure she could get Zendar to meet with her.”

He shook his head. If it weren’t for Larissa, the Judson family would be in a steady decline thanks to

the likes of Josette and Paxton.

“Dad, Josette is your daughter,” Vivica said in disbelief. “She’s Larissa’s aunt. The bet was just a silly competition. You can’t seriously expect her to kneel and apologize to a junior.”

“If you can’t afford to lose, don’t make the bet,” Kiernan retorted sternly. “If we conduct business with the same lack of integrity, who will ever trust the Judson family again?”

Vivica was speechless. After a moment, she smoothed her hair. “If you insist, you can call her yourself and ask her to come apologize to your precious granddaughter. It’s out of my hands.”

“Grandpa, let me call her,” Larissa offered. “I wouldn’t want to put you in a difficult position.”

She took out her phone, got Josette’s number from Sapphira, and dialed.

A moment later, a groggy female voice answered. “Who is this?”

“Aunt Josette, it’s me, your niece, Larissa,” she said cheerfully.

The voice on the other end sharpened. “Larissa? Why are you calling me?”

“It seems you slept well, Aunt Josette. But I think you might have forgotten that you owe me an apology.”

“Larissa, I’m your aunt. It was just a joke. You’re not actually taking it seriously, are you?” Josette said, clearly trying to back out.

“Of course I’m taking it seriously,” Larissa replied sweetly. “In fact, I was so worried you might not honor our bet that I had Grandpa witness it. He’s sitting right here with me now, waiting for you to come back and apologize.”

There was a long silence on the other end, followed by a voice tight with anger. “Fine. You just wait.”

She hung up.

Larissa lowered her phone.

“What did she say?” Kiernan asked.

“She sounded rather upset and just told me to wait. I don’t think she has any intention of coming back here to apologize.”

“Of course not,” Vivica scoffed, seeing her chance. “She’s a senior member of the Lincoln family. She’s not going to kneel to a child. If you really want her apology, you’ll have to go to the Lincoln estate and get it yourself.”

She was confident Larissa wouldn’t dare.

Kiernan hesitated. It would be one thing to handle this within the Judson family, but taking it to the Lincolns would be messy.

Larissa saw his hesitation and knew that’s what Josette was counting on–that Kiernan wouldn’t risk a public confrontation.
