Married at First Sight Chapter 1067

Liberty laughed and said, “Since you’re my first customer, your meal is on the house. What would you like to eat, Mr. Lewis?”

Duncan replied, “No, I’ll pay. It’s your opening day, and you need to earn money. You should charge everyone who comes to eat.”

Zachary chimed in, “Paying for breakfast is pocket change for Duncan. Don’t even think about giving him a discount; just charge him the menu price.”

“In that case, thank you for your support,” Liberty responded.

In his heart, Zachary thought, ‘What’s there to thank? In the future, Duncan might latch onto you and never let go.’

Shortly after Duncan arrived, a steady stream of customers came in for breakfast.

Liberty quickly found herself busy.

The opening of a new store typically attracts people eager to try the food.

Liberty’s establishment had been undergoing renovations for some time, and those working in nearby buildings had long been aware of All You Can Eat.

They found the name simple and relatable.

As soon as they saw that it was open for business, they came in to sample the new owner’s culinary skills.

Having begun raising her younger sister at just fifteen, Liberty had honed her cooking skills over the years.

Those who dined there found the food at this diner exceptionally satisfying.

After the morning rush, Liberty finally had a moment to catch her breath.

Though it was exhausting, she felt genuinely happy.

However, if her ex-husband hadn’t come in with his mother, Liberty’s smile would have lasted until nightfall.

Hank arrived with a flower stand and, upon noticing that the only patrons were Zachary, Serenity, and the middle-aged woman who frequently helped Liberty, he frowned. He then made an unpleasant comment: “Why…

“Are there really no customers?” Olivia asked, glancing at the flower stands at the entrance. They were from Zachary and Serenity, Jasmine, Elisa and her family, as well as Duncan. Her mood soured when she noticed Duncan’s flower stands. He had sent over several stands, but her son had only brought one. Olivia couldn’t help but compare her son to Duncan.

When she spotted her son entering the store, she quickly followed him inside. Just in time, she heard her son’s unpleasant remarks and slapped his arm. “Hank, keep quiet if you have nothing nice to say.” She then raised a bag containing a bottle of champagne and handed it to Liberty with a smile. “Congratulations on your opening day, Liberty. I hope business is thriving for you.”

Liberty took the congratulatory card from the bag, thanked her, and returned the bag containing the champagne to Olivia. “Liberty, please take this as a small token from me. Just accept it.”

“I appreciate your gesture, but I can’t accept your champagne,” Liberty insisted.

With no choice but to reclaim the bag, Olivia turned to Serenity and Zachary, smiling. “Serenity, it’s been a while! You’re looking more beautiful every day, and your demeanor has improved. I always knew you were a blessed person.”

Serenity gave a dry laugh, clearly uninterested in engaging with Olivia, who had previously gossiped about her with Chelsea.

“Mr. York,” Olivia said, attempting to ingratiate herself with Zachary.

Zachary’s expression remained stoic, and he didn’t respond, leaving Olivia embarrassed and speechless. Serenity’s husband was indeed a man of few words yet had an intimidating presence!

Hank finally realized his comments were inappropriate. He handed the flower stand to Liberty and said, “I—”

“I ordered these a few days ago to congratulate you on the opening of your new store,” he said. Liberty looked at the long rows of flower stands at the store’s entrance and replied softly, “Thank you, Mr. Brown, but it appears there isn’t enough space for your flower stand at the entrance.”
