Married at First Sight Chapter 1014

Chapter 1014
Mr. Newman had long noticed that Zachary was distant and not the easiest person to engage with.
At this early stage, Mr. Newman couldn’t determine whether he would be able to establish a rapport with Zachary. Nonetheless, it was evident that Zachary was an indifferent individual. With over a decade of experience managing Newman Enterprise, Mr. Newman had transformed a small business into a billion-dollar corporation.
While the Newmans excelled in international business, Mr. Newman also held influence and connections in Wiltspoon.
“Mr. Zachary, I’m here to extend my apologies on behalf of my daughter and wife,” Mr. Newman said with a smile.
Zachary responded coldly, “I’ve never met your wife and daughter.”
“The situation is this, Mr. Zachary. My wife and daughter had a misunderstanding and conflict with your wife. I have addressed this with them, but since my wife is occupied caring for our sick daughter, I’m here on their behalf to apologize to your wife.
“I didn’t want to approach your wife without your consent, so I came to consult with you. May I offer a personal apology to your wife? I sincerely apologize.”
Zachary was very protective of Serenity. The media had not dared to intrude upon her privacy. Any photos of Serenity were taken discreetly, and no one would dare post them online without Zachary’s awareness.
Callum found the conversation puzzling. Why had Zach called him here when Mr. Newman seemed to have offended Serenity?
“There’s no need for a personal apology. Just keep an eye on your wife and daughter. My wife has taken a liking to Ms. Camryn and wants to be friends with her.”
That was enough—Serenity had intervened in the Newmans’ affairs to support Camryn, and Nana believed Camryn would be a perfect match for Callum.

While Mrs. Newman and Carrie dismissed Serenity’s comments, as she lacked any real influence, it only provided them with more reasons to target Camryn. Zachary was clearly signaling to Mr. Newman that Camryn was off-limits, which could potentially improve Camryn’s situation. By this point, Callum was starting to grasp the situation. Mr. Newman, it turned out, was both Camryn’s stepfather and uncle. Zack had called Callum not to discuss work, but to inform him about Camryn’s predicament.

Callum had mixed feelings about the entire situation; it was going to be a hassle. Kevin lost his temper when he and Callum received photos of their prospective wives from Grandma May. Refusing to take his grandmother seriously, Kevin nearly burned the photo, but Callum intervened. Burning the photos was pointless since their grandmother had already made her choice and kept copies, leaving them with no way to escape her plans. Callum had jokingly challenged Kevin at the time, “I dare you to run away from home and stay away as long as Nana is alive.”

Running away was not a feasible option, especially since Zachary would ensure Kevin faced serious consequences if he were ever found. Although Kevin wasn’t thrilled that Grandma May had chosen a tomboy for him, he loved her dearly. It felt disrespectful to avoid home instead of being by her side in her final days. Grandma May had given them a year, so the York boys were not in a hurry. However, Zack had interjected himself into the matter.

“Camryn is fortunate that your wife is favorable toward her,” he remarked. Mr. Newman wore a smile, but Zachary could see through its insincerity. The truth was, Mr. Newman was furious. While Camryn was an heiress of the Newman family, everyone knew she was a fatherless outcast, a nobody in the Newman household, and even the maids treated her poorly.
