Married at First Sight Chapter 988

Chapter 988
The Hunts had relocated the graves of Zachary’s parents-in-law, leaving Serenity and her sister unaware of their new location. The Hunt family’s goal was to prevent the sisters from visiting the graves while pressuring John to pay his respects to Serenity’s parents as their son. This would allow John to inherit Serenity’s parents’ property.
The mention of her parents cast a shadow over Serenity’s spirits.
As he held her hands, Zachary comforted her, saying, “Your parents in heaven will be proud to see you and your sister thriving.”
“I’ll reclaim everything that belongs to my parents!”
“You can count on me. Go after them. I’ll hire the best lawyers to fight this case. We won’t let them succeed!”
Serenity nodded resolutely.
“Ahem.”
Clearing her throat, Elisa interrupted the couple.
Elisa approached as they watched her.
“Seren, my mom called and asked you to come home with me. We need to start preparing for the event.”
She then turned to Zachary. “Seren made you an early dinner. The food is ready now. Would you like to eat here or take it with you?”
Zachary glanced at Serenity, hoping she would stay with him.
“Let’s have dinner before you leave. I’ll join you.”
Serenity knew him well; his appetite improved when she was nearby.
She personally cooked three meals a day to help him regain his strength.
“We typically don’t eat much during the event, so we should have a bite to eat before we go.” Seizing the opportunity, Elisa set the table and grabbed a cloth to wipe it down. “You’re heading to your hometown this weekend, right, Seren? Do you mind if my mom and I come along?”
“I’d love to see where Aunt Lisa used to live. I’m sure my mom would enjoy that too.”
She has been wanting to visit for a long time.

to visit your hometown and meet Aunt Lisa’s adoptive parents.” After Aunt Lisa’s passing, her adoptive parents took a significant portion of the insurance money and ceased all contact with Serenity and Liberty, clearly severing ties with them. However, this did not diminish the fact that they played a crucial role in raising Aunt Lisa. Mrs. Stone wanted to learn about her sister’s childhood, and the only way to obtain that information was through Aunt Lisa’s adoptive parents. Regardless of the situation, Mrs. Stone felt grateful to them. Without their support, her sister might not have reached adulthood, nor would she have left behind two nieces who provided consolation to Mrs. Stone in her search for her sister.

“Of course, I don’t mind. Aunt Audrey mentioned she wanted to return to my hometown with me to visit my mom’s grave. I just haven’t had the time to make it happen since the New Year.”

Not long after New Year’s, she learned about Zachary. The couple’s conflict raised concerns among those around them, and plans to return to the hometown were postponed.

Elisa then remarked, “I heard what you said to Zachary. It’s best to resolve the property issue as quickly as possible. Remember, you can always reach out to us if you need anything.”

“Don’t worry; I will let you know when I need help,” she replied.

Elisa scoffed, “That’s what you always say, but you never involve me in anything. You always move ahead on your own.”

She could never forget the time Serenity brought a group to vandalize Hank’s home. Jasmine had asked Serenity if Elisa should join, but Serenity never bothered to inform her.

Elisa felt she had missed out on the most exciting experience ever!
