Married at First Sight Chapter 979

Chapter 979
Liberty married into the Browns without asking for anything in return.
The wedding gifts, whether material items or money, should align with current market rates and local customs. However, Jessica’s parents demanded a substantial amount for her brothers, leaving Jessica with nothing to begin her own family.
Jessica was determined not to accept that.
Now that Hank had entrusted her with the finances, Jessica was responsible for covering all the household expenses. She felt the strain each time she paid a bill.
The responsibility to manage the household finances rested on her shoulders, and everything was costly.
As the head of the household, she began to gain control over their financial situation, especially since both she and Hank were still unemployed.
They were gradually depleting their limited savings, so they needed to be budget-conscious.
Jessica felt relieved that she only contributed one-third of her previous salary to her family. She spent another third and saved the rest in the bank. At least she had some savings of her own.
It was all about self-love; she needed to love herself before she could love someone else.
Jessica hopped out of the car, closed the door, and locked it.
She was driving Hank’s vehicle.
Hank had purchased another car, which happened to cost over a hundred thousand dollars. He mentioned becoming an Uber driver if he remained jobless after the wedding, indicating he would still provide for his wife.
Jessica believed Hank’s feelings for her were genuine; he treated her much better than he had treated Liberty.
Taking a few deep breaths, Jessica unlocked the car and retrieved her Louis Vuitton bag. Hank had given her the bag during their dating period, stating he had never bought anything extravagant for Liberty, but that Jessica deserved only the best.

Jessica agreed to be Hank’s side chick because he was generous, young, and handsome. Clutching her Louis Vuitton bag, she walked toward All You Can Eat with her chin held high like a champion. Just as she approached the diner, a car pulled up in front of it. Jessica recognized it as belonging to her insufferable sister-in-law, Chelsea.

Stopping in her tracks, Jessica decided against entering the diner for the moment. She wanted to see why Chelsea and her mother-in-law were looking for Liberty. Liberty and Grandma May were talking about hosting a party for the diner’s opening next week. Grandma May proposed that they hold the event at the Wiltspoon Hotel, which the Yorks owned. This would allow them to offer Liberty the best price, potentially even for free.

“Grandma May, business is business. I want to throw a party for my restaurant’s opening. You can’t let me have it for free, but a discount would be appreciated. Maybe I should just cook myself,” Liberty replied. Operating a breakfast place kept her busy in the mornings, but she could close the restaurant by afternoon.

Liberty had enough time to shop for groceries and prepare the meal. “You’ll wear yourself out. Why don’t you reserve two tables at the hotel? I’ll ask Kevin to give you the best rate.”

“Thank you, Grandma May,” Liberty said, this time graciously accepting her offer. It would be challenging for two families to unite if one party was overly accommodating.

“Grandma.” Sonny was playing by himself in a corner when his grandmother and aunt entered the restaurant. He greeted Mrs. Brown.

“Sonny,” Mrs. Brown said, gazing at him as if he were a money tree. She had never really spent much time with him before, but now that they…

While they were apart, Mrs. Brown’s thoughts were solely focused on her only grandson.
