Chapter 917
“Give each other some time,” Liberty said as she patted her sister’s hand and placed the document back into the envelope. “Don’t keep such an important document in my rental house. Even though I live in a nice neighborhood, we don’t know much about our neighbors.”
“Brynfield has stricter security measures in place. You could buy a safe to keep in your home with Zachary. It would be safer to lock the document away there. This is everything Zachary owns.”
Serenity fell silent for a moment before replying, “I’ll call Nana later. I’ll give her the document to hold onto. Their home is a much better place.”
“Sounds good,” Liberty agreed. She had no objections to that. “Are you staying for lunch?”
“I’m heading to the Stones’ residence to talk to Aunt Audrey. I might have lunch there.”
“What are you planning to discuss with Aunt Audrey?” Liberty asked, concern evident in her voice. “Do you need her help with something?”
Mrs. Stone was their aunt and held a significant position in Wiltspoon. Although the sisters had reconnected with her, they never sought to exploit her reputation. In fact, they had turned down her offers of financial assistance.
For the sisters, it was all about finding family. Their lifestyle remained unchanged, and they saw no reason to alter it.
Whenever Liberty’s former mother-in-law visited to vent her frustrations, she would call Liberty foolish for not accepting Mrs. Stone’s money to invest in a larger business.
Even if Liberty had no interest in investing or managing a business, she could have pursued a lucrative position at Stone Group. Mrs. Brown even suggested that Liberty help Hank secure a job with Mrs. Stone.
Since Hank often told his parents he was about to lose his job, Mrs. Brown was eager to get assistance from Mrs. Stone through Liberty.
often ignored her former mother-in-law, however.
“Aunt Audrey moves in elite circles. I was considering asking her to introduce me to that world and see how I feel about it. Can I adapt to high society and fit in? Elisa mentioned an investment opportunity to me. She asked if I was interested, and after thinking it over, I decided to take the plunge. I’m going to invest all my money in the project with Elisa.”
Divorce was not an option. She wouldn’t leave Zachary if he refused to let her go.
Since divorce wasn’t on the table, she had to confront the challenges head-on.
No matter the obstacles, she would not shy away from them.
This was a test that life had presented to her.
“I should at least give it a try. Regardless of the outcome, I won’t have any regrets. I will regret it if I give up before putting in my best effort.”
Liberty remarked, “I see you’ve made up your mind. Go for it! I support you. You can do this, Seren!”
Serenity smiled and high-fived her sister. “Let’s work hard together!”
“You should hurry to Aunt Audrey’s place. She should be awake by now. If you leave now, you’ll make it there on time. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for her to come back.”
A socialite like Mrs. Stone had a full day planned.
“I’ll take Sonny with me so he doesn’t bother you.”
Liberty replied with a grin, “Alright.”
She could use the free time.
Serenity finished her drink at her sister’s restaurant before leaving with her nephew for the Stones’ residence.
Once Serenity departed, Liberty shut the glass door and began jogging.
She was committed to running three times a day to achieve success in her weight loss journey. Sometimes, when she didn’t have time to run, Liberty would…
She skipped rope in the restaurant, demonstrating her determination as she persevered with the workout.
