Chapter 911
All the paperwork for the transfer of Zachary’s personal assets—including shares of York Corporation, bank accounts, and title deeds for both residential and commercial properties—had been organized and placed in an envelope for Serenity.
“You will own the company’s equity, but I will manage York Corporation on your behalf. The profits will be yours to keep. I’m solely working for you. If you have a financial target in mind, I will do my best to help you achieve that goal,” he explained.
“We can proceed with the paperwork to transfer everything to your name if you’re comfortable with it. I won’t keep anything. You can decide how much allowance you would like to give me.”
“I’ve been guarded around you, thinking you were after my money. Now, I’m

handing over everything I have to you to demonstrate my trust in you and to apologize through my actions. I promise there will be no more hiding or lies.”
Without looking at the deeds, Serenity shoved the document back into the envelope and stared at him in silence.
“Say something, Seren. What are your thoughts?”
Her silence filled Zachary with a sense of unease, leaving him uncertain about what was on her mind or what she intended to do.
Serenity slid the envelope back across the table to Zachary and said, “I won’t accept this, Zachary.”
Flustered, Zachary instinctively grabbed Serenity’s hands and desperately asked, “What do you want me to do, Seren? I promise I can do anything you need.”
“You believe I was too wealthy for you, so I’m transferring my assets to you, changing the dynamic between us. I’m putting myself in a subordinate position. Isn’t that enough to assure you?”
He was offering her everything he owned.
“Zachary, I don’t want your charity. I don’t want to depend on you. Don’t you understand? I—”
“I don’t want to be an accessory, completely reliant on you for everything.” He had been a great source of support when their relationship was thriving. What if she became too accustomed to his presence, putting their marriage at risk? Serenity realized that she would be placing herself in a vulnerable and precarious situation.
They had only been married for a few months, and the road ahead was long. Zachary could claim he would love her forever, but the concept of eternity was infinite. Serenity found it hard to believe that his feelings would remain constant. Some couples still fell out of love and separated in their later years. Serenity was merely taking precautions.
“But I want to be your rock and your lifelong support!” he insisted. “I’ve got you covered for anything and everything.” Serenity had faith in his abilities. In the past, Zachary had always resolved her issues. She saw him as her superman.
Later, Serenity discovered that many of their challenges disappeared due to his social standing. “Seren, take this and keep it. I’m always available when you decide to proceed. The passcode for the bank cards is the same as the one I gave you for household expenses. Just get what you need.”
“You can look at the property and see if anything interests you. Also, keep an eye out for other properties that you might like. Your bumper is still damaged from when you tailgated another vehicle. I noticed you haven’t sent the car for repairs. Why not switch to another one?”
“I have plenty of cars in the garage. Choose one that you like.” Zachary slid the envelope back to Serenity, insisting that she accept it.
