Married at First Sight Chapter 821

Chapter 821
“Let me calm down, Zachary. I’ll call you back once I think of a solution, but you mustn’t do anything to hurt Serenity again. Otherwise, you really won’t be able to win her back.”
Josh was so furious with Zachary that he wanted to hang up the phone quickly to regain his composure. He didn’t want to lash out with expletives in front of Jasmine, as he was trying to maintain his reputation as Mr. Bucham.
Following the recent events with Zachary, Josh resolved to be completely sincere in his dealings with Jasmine. He would not lie or deceive her as Zachary had done to Serenity.
He ended the call before Zachary could reply.
“Why did you hang up? I still wanted to convince him. From what he said, he’ll only make Serenity angrier. She might even start to hate him,” Jasmine remarked.
Josh replied, “Didn’t you hear what he said? I’m speechless and angry too. I need to take a step back. How did I end up with a boss who has such low emotional intelligence?”
“Ugh, why is my life so difficult?!” Josh sighed.
He had never complained, no matter what problems Zachary asked him to resolve.
However, when Zachary sought his help with relationship issues, it became a headache for Josh.
The main issue was Zachary’s domineering personality, which had reared its head again, full force.
“I have a feeling they won’t reconcile for at least a few months,” he mused.
Jasmine shared the same sentiment and said, “The Serenity I know will mention divorce, but I can assure you she won’t run away from this problem. She’ll definitely confront him about it.”
Perhaps she was even drafting the divorce agreement at that very moment.
Upon hearing Jasmine’s words, Josh quickly said, “Jasmine, you have to persuade Serenity not to divorce Zachary, or there will be serious consequences, and I’ll be the first to suffer.”

“Now that I’m courting you, you wouldn’t want me to die, right? If I were to die now, people might say you’re a jinx who brings misfortune to men who pursue you.”

Jasmine slapped his arm and retorted, “You’re the jinx! I’ve always had good luck. My mom had my fortune read, and it predicted that I would be rich and prosperous in the future. I’ll have burlap sacks filled with cash and a fortune exceeding a hundred million.”

Josh grinned. “That fortune-teller is spot on. You’ll be rich and prosperous if you marry me. If you like keeping your money in burlap sacks, I’ll buy you two dozen sacks and empty my savings into them. You won’t just have a hundred million; you’ll have several billion.”

Jasmine slapped him again. “In your dreams! Why are you talking about marriage when I haven’t even agreed to be your girlfriend? After what happened with Serenity, I need to really get to know you. If you’re as deceitful as Mr. York, we might as well just stay friends.”

She wanted to say they wouldn’t even be friends, but considering his knowledge of gossip that piqued her curiosity, she decided to keep him in her circle.

“No way! I’m far more sincere than Zachary. Our circumstances are different. We know who we are, but Zachary was pressured by his grandmother to marry Serenity.”

“It’s completely normal for him to hide his identity at first. Many people would understand his actions,” he replied.

Jasmine countered, “It’s acceptable to conceal one’s identity initially, but he chose to keep it hidden even after he fell in love with Serenity. That’s what infuriates her.”

“He’s just afraid of losing her.”

“Then why did he choose to reveal it now? Is he no longer afraid of losing her? Is he feeling bold because he thinks Serenity…”

“Are they a real couple?” Josh paused before responding, “Zachary was also conflicted. Last year, he attended the wedding of FC & Co.’s boss at Annenburg and sought advice from Remy. Upon his return, he began making plans to come clean.”
