Making this call had been incredibly difficult. Serenity hung up without saying another word. Shawn Lowe had not contacted her for a long time, nor had he appeared in her life. She knew this was all part of Jasmine’s plan; they believed it would make Shawn give up on her and start anew.
Unexpectedly, Shawn called her.
“Who called?”
Zachary noticed her troubled expression. Aside from asking who was on the line, he remained silent, curiosity evident in his demeanor.
As he draped his jacket over her shoulders, he inquired, “Was it a prank call?”
“It was Shawn Lowe.”
It could certainly be considered a prank call.
Zachary frowned. Was Shawn Lowe still pursuing her?
Mr. Lowe, Shawn’s father, had attempted to meet with him multiple times to discuss the stalled cooperation between their companies, but Shawn had been too busy to meet with Mr. Lowe.
The discord between York Corporation and Lowe Enterprise was apparent.
Mr. Lowe was under tremendous pressure. The conflict between the two companies would not lead to Lowe Enterprise’s immediate collapse, but it would still result in losses. Shareholders of Lowe Enterprise had been approaching him one after another, demanding to know what had gone wrong.
Everything had seemed fine, so how had they ended up at odds with York Corporation?
What truly infuriated Mr. Lowe was that their rivals were seizing this opportunity to act.
York Corporation had put on a facade to make it appear that the two companies had become enemies, which created immense pressure on Lowe Enterprise, prompting their rivals to escalate their actions.
Zachary was essentially using others to strike against them.
