The elders of the Johnson family were particularly concerned about Lee and Remy.
Since Lee and Remy had different mothers, the age difference between the brothers was minimal.
Remy was past the average marrying age for most people, with many men his age already fathers of two children.
Zachary said apologetically, “I would help match Mr. Johnson if I could, but I don’t know many young women. I might not be very helpful, but I can ask my wife to keep an eye out, or I could let my nana know. She’s already looking for girls for my brothers. I could see if she could introduce someone to Mr. Johnson as well.”
Remy was left speechless.
Though he had never met Old Mrs. York, he had heard stories about her youthful spirit and open-mindedness.
Old Mrs. York was credited with facilitating Zachary’s marriage to Serenity.
“Please thank Old Mrs. York for me,” Remy said.
Ben thought it would be challenging for Zachary to play matchmaker for Remy. Both Zachary and Tim were similar in that they avoided young women and couldn’t be relied upon to find a partner.
However, the chances would improve if Old Mrs. York got involved. She had a wealth of life experience and a keen eye for people, making her likely to find a suitable wife for Remy.
“My nana will be happy to help,” Ben replied.
The old lady enjoyed matchmaking.
Remy interjected, “Ben… shouldn’t you consider my opinion?”
“You’ll be notified when a date is arranged,” Ben replied.
Remy was at a loss for words.
Before Ben got married, he had successfully kept the family from pressuring his brothers about marriage since he wasn’t married himself. They had it easy back then.
Now that Ben was married, he not only failed to fend off the pressure but was actively supporting the push for marriage.
Ben should be encouraging Lee instead.
After all, Lee was slightly older than Remy.
Lee would have gritted his teeth if he knew what was on Remy’s mind.
Zachary’s thoughts turned to Elisa. Elisa and Remy…
He thought they made a cute couple, but given Elisa’s unwavering feelings for Zachary, pairing her with Remy wouldn’t be appropriate. What would Remy and Ben think?
After careful consideration, Zachary chose not to suggest Elisa.
He thanked Ben and Remy before leaving FC Manor with his security detail. Remy and Ben saw him off at the door.
Once Zachary had left, Ben remarked, “I can’t believe a guy like Mr. York would be troubled by love. He has always been decisive and never dwells on things.”
Remy responded, “Love brings a lot of uncertainty. The more he cares about his wife, the more he hesitates.”
Ben tilted his head and looked at his brother.
Feeling a sense of foreboding, Remy said, “That reminds me. I need to handle some business. I’ve got to go, Ben.”
With that, Remy slipped away.
