“I can’t stop thinking about him for a while…”
“Elisa, you deserve better.”
Elisa replied confidently, “I think so too!”
The two women exchanged smiles.
Clive had asked Serenity not to mention Zachary’s last name in front of Elisa to avoid upsetting her.
Seeing Elisa at the milk tea shop across from York Corporation helped Serenity understand Clive’s protective feelings for his sister.
Since Serenity and Zachary had recently advanced their relationship and were in love, it wouldn’t be appropriate to display their affection in front of Elisa at that moment, as it might upset her.
Just then, the main door of York Corporation opened.
Both Serenity and Elisa instinctively turned toward the entrance and noticed a convoy driving out.
One of the license plates looked familiar to Elisa, and she quickly remembered where she had seen it before.
“Seren, you can wait for your husband to finish work. I have something to take care of now.”
Elisa handed Sonny back to Serenity, then turned and went into the store to grab her car keys. When she returned, she hurried to her car and waved to Serenity as she got in. “Bring your husband over for dinner sometime!”
Then she drove off quickly.
“Those cars belonged to Mr. York, right?”
Serenity recalled that Mr. York always traveled with a group of bodyguards. His personal vehicle was typically surrounded by their cars.
The convoy that had just left York Corporation matched Mr. York’s usual practice.
However, it was not Zachary’s convoy; it belonged to Remy Johnson, the fifth son of the Johnson family, who also traveled with a group of bodyguards.
Remy was headed back to Annenburg.
Before returning, he was assigned by his older brother to visit York Corporation and invite Zachary to his brother’s wedding. This was the reason for his appearance at York Corporation. Shortly after, Elisa noticed Remy’s car. Unaware that it was Remy, she was simply curious to discover who else, apart from Zachary, was receiving such attention in Wiltspoon.
