Married at First Sight Chapter 702

Chapter 702
Tania felt uneasy about her son being so considerate toward his wife.
Fortunately, her daughter-in-law demonstrated more thoughtfulness than her son.
“Let me give it a try.”
Tania took a bite of the food that Serenity had prepared for her.
After tasting it, Tania wanted to claim that her son was a better cook than Serenity, but she knew that would not be honest. She pondered for a moment before deciding to speak the truth. “Zack can’t compete with Serenity. You should spend more time in the kitchen and cook for her more often.”
It could also help the couple strengthen their bond.
Tania continued, “But you are usually busy with work…”
“Don’t worry, Mom. I won’t let Zachary into the kitchen during the weekdays.”
Mrs. Lane was now part of the family.
Tania appreciated Serenity’s perspective.
“Do you want some shrimp, Mom?” Zachary asked his mother.
“I already had dinner, but Serenity asked me to judge who is the better cook between you two. That’s why I tried it. Go ahead and enjoy your dinner. I’ll head to the living room to watch TV.”
Tania finished the food on her plate, set down her utensils, and stood up to leave the dining room.
Once his mother had left, Zachary placed a plate of shelled shrimp in front of Serenity and said affectionately, “Enjoy, honey. Have some broth with it. It’s comforting and healthy.”
He gazed at Serenity with fondness.
The expression Zachary wore almost made Serenity want to laugh.
It was hard to believe that his usually stoic face could display such lively expressions.
Clearing her throat, Serenity glanced into the living room and saw her mother-in-law gracefully settling onto the sofa. She gasped in admiration at her mother-in-law’s refined demeanor. Tania was undeniably more of a lady than a…

The lady in the TV series displayed grace even in the simple act of sitting down. Zachary leaned closer and whispered in Serenity’s ear, “Don’t worry. Mom won’t peek at us.”

Things would be different if Nana were here, as she had a tendency to pry. Mom, however, was raised not to be discreet when it came to looking and listening.

“Do you still feel sore, Seren?” A blush spread across Serenity’s face as she gently pushed Zachary away, whispering, “We’re having dinner. Behave yourself.”

“I didn’t say anything,” he replied. With a teasing brush of his lips and tongue against her cheek, he continued in a low voice, “It won’t hurt like that anymore.” Serenity quickly stuffed shrimp into his mouth.

“The food on the table isn’t enough to silence you. Hurry up and eat. You might not be hungry, but I am.”

Zachary chuckled, straightening up as he picked up his utensils and watched her eat while he nibbled on his own food.

“Is the food not to your liking?” he asked.

“You’re to my liking,” she retorted, leaving her momentarily speechless.

His smooth talking was increasing by the minute. “You’re a feast for the eyes. Just watching you gives me a good appetite. I could have several helpings of the main course.”

Serenity served him some food. “You worked all night to prepare dinner. Eat up! I don’t want your mom thinking I’m starving you.”

Zachary laughed. Though his life may seem mundane, he found joy in its simplicity. He hoped they could remain sweet and happy, just like his parents, whose relationship had thrived over the years.
