Married at First Sight Chapter 673

Chapter 673
Zachary thought to himself, ‘The company is mine after all.’
Serenity continued, “Is Mr. Tank the manager at the subsidiary company? That’s how he introduced himself.”
“He mentioned that you’ll need to stay in the hospital for a few days. Your only task is to rest. You may seem healthy, but the stress and exhaustion have finally caught up with you. Your immune system has weakened, and now you have a nasty cold.”
“You’re on paid medical leave. Mr. Tank asked me to take care of you and will be paying me for my time. At least they’ve taken care of everything for you.”
Serenity was impressed by how the subsidiary of such a large corporation handled matters. They thoughtfully provided support for family members without them even needing to ask.
Zachary savored his chicken soup while thinking, ‘It’s still my money.’ However, he didn’t have the courage to say that aloud.
“How long do I have to stay in the hospital? It’s just a cold and fever. I want to be out by morning. I can rest at my apartment and just come in for daily IV drips if necessary. I really don’t want to remain in the hospital. I despise hospitals.”
Serenity snapped back, “Who likes hospitals? But you’re sick. You won’t recover without the treatments here. Look at you; the over-the-counter medicine didn’t help at all. You were unconscious. I was worried that your fever could lead to permanent neurological issues.”
Feeling a shudder at that thought, Zachary quickly replied, “I’m feeling much better now. There’s no permanent damage.”

Zachary’s face fell. “It’s boring in the hospital.”
“I’ll be here with you. I don’t think it’s boring or a hassle, so who are you to complain?”
Zachary was left speechless.
He was thankful that Josh had sent his wife to care for him, especially since they had recently had an argument. Perhaps this illness could help mend their relationship. However, Serenity had him on a tight leash since her arrival at the hospital.
“Or do you want me to go home now? I won’t stay and look after you if you don’t remain in the hospital. Aunt Audrey is hosting a party just for Liberty and me. If you don’t need care, I can hurry back and make it to the party.”
Zachary quickly grabbed her hands.
“Seren, I’ll stay in the hospital. Your word is my command.”
“Not mine. You should be listening to the doctor.”
In his mind, Zachary cursed the doctor who had recommended the hospital stay.
However, as he watched Serenity thoughtfully feed him chicken soup, he began to let go of his resentment.
Well, he might as well enjoy his hospital stay. He was living the good life, with his wife showering him with attention.
After feeding Zachary the soup, Serenity pulled out a tissue to wipe his mouth. Her thoughtfulness made him want to pull her into his arms and kiss her a thousand times.
It was a shame he had a cold.
It was a viral infection too, so he couldn’t kiss her for fear of infecting her.
“Seren.”
Serenity turned to look at him.

Zachary coughed. He hadn’t coughed yesterday, but now his throat was itchy. “Can you kiss me here with the mask on?” he asked, touching his cheek and gesturing for Serenity to kiss him there. Serenity was at a loss for words. “Seren…” Zachary’s voice trailed off.
