Zachary’s phone rang once more.

He initially thought it was Serenity calling, but upon checking the caller ID, he saw it was Duncan.

Zachary leaned back in his black swivel chair and asked nonchalantly, “Why are you calling me so late?”

Duncan paused before adding, “You’re a businessman at heart. You only talk about profits and never about feelings.”

Zachary replied faintly, “In the deceitful world of business, feelings will only be weaponized by the opponent. You risk being consumed, and everything will vanish.”

That is unless the Stone Group intends to make peace with him. Only if both sides take a step back will it be possible to improve relations.

“Elisa has been infatuated with you for years. If she discovers your relationship with Serenity, given her volatile personality, will your wife be in trouble?” Duncan expressed his concern about this matter.

“There’s no need for that. I can manage on my own.”
“That’s good. Even if you asked for my help, I wouldn’t be able to assist you. You can call me if it’s a fight, but I’m not great at handling emotional issues.”
“Zachary, you can’t handle emotional problems either, can you? You’re no better off than I am in that respect.”
Zachary was left speechless.
Duncan had no tact; his words were cutting into Zachary like a knife.
“By the way, your sister-in-law is in trouble again. Her former mother-in-law and sister-in-law came to the office looking for her, and they got into a fight. It seems your sister-in-law will have a hard time living the quiet life she desires.
