Married at First Sight Chapter 466

Chapter 466
Serenity felt delighted by his thoughtfulness, yet she still declined the idea.
Just as Zachary was about to express his concern, she hugged the flowers with one arm and wrapped her other arm around his neck. Leaning in closer, she softly whispered, “Don’t bring too many flowers home, or the owner might get easily enchanted.”
After saying that, she patted Zachary’s chest, implying that he should not be easily swayed by others.
Zachary was left speechless.
Was there really such a saying?
He would have to ask Josh about it another day.
Serenity entered his car.
As Zachary started the engine, he inquired, “How’s Sonny?”
“The swelling hasn’t completely subsided. Last night, he had a fever and cried all night. This morning, his fever finally broke, but he was so exhausted from crying that he only fell asleep in my sister’s arms afterward.”
Serenity’s good mood deflated upon hearing Sonny’s situation.
“Zachary,”
she said, tilting her head to look at him, “If, and I mean if, we have children in the future, regardless of what happens or how our relationship may change, please don’t hurt them, okay?”
Zachary immediately applied the brakes.
He turned to face Serenity.
The husband and wife locked eyes, both recognizing the seriousness in each other’s gazes.
While he had never verbally expressed his love for her, his feelings were evident in every action he took.
Similarly, she had never told him that she had fallen for him, but she had gradually come to depend on him.
They both understood that their lives were slowly merging together.
Zachary reached out his hand and gently…

He caressed Serenity’s face, leaning in closer, his handsome features drawing near. As Serenity closed her eyes, soft kisses grazed her forehead, cheeks, and lips.

“Serenity, if you treat me with sincerity, I will love you back tenfold,” he promised.

“My heart has very little space. If I let you in, there will be room only for you, and none for anyone else. Our relationship will remain unchanged. If we have children, that will simply be a continuation of our lives together. I would rather endure pain myself than let anything harm our children,” he added.

Serenity opened her eyes and met his intense gaze. His eyes were dark and deep like an abyss, yet they held a magnetic allure that drew her in. She felt an irresistible urge to dive into those depths and lose herself within them.

“Zachary,” she whispered.

“Yes?” he replied.

“I think I’ve fallen for you.”

Zachary chuckled and kissed her lips once more. “I’m like a ship sailing toward the shore of happiness. If you wish, I would gladly welcome you aboard to journey with me.”

After a brief pause, he added, “However, it’s important to consider whether your feelings for me stem from love or gratitude. Don’t confuse the two.”

Serenity was silent for a moment before responding, “You’re right. I need to reflect on it properly.”

Was her feeling for him love or merely gratitude?

“What if it’s truly just gratitude and not love?” she asked.

Zachary was momentarily speechless.

Seeing his inability to respond, she laughed and playfully pushed him away. “You should drive. Don’t stop here and block the way for others.”

Zachary straightened up, returning to his usual serious demeanor, as if he hadn’t just shared those heartfelt words. He restarted the car, and Serenity sensed a feeling…

The incident with Sonny and their earlier conversation had bridged the emotional distance between them. Inside the car, the couple remained silent, with only the sound of music filling the air. As they approached the lobby of Liberty’s place, Zachary suddenly remarked, “Divorce really causes a lot of harm to the kids.” Serenity responded, “But some marriages really don’t need to be preserved. If those types of marriages continue, they’ll still harm the kids.” Zachary chose to remain quiet.
