Married at First Sight Chapter 413

Chapter 413
Callum brought Nana downstairs, and they prepared to head to the hotel for lunch. As soon as they exited the office building, Callum’s keen eyes spotted Serenity. “Nana, now I see why Zachary asked me to take you out for lunch,” he remarked.
Pointing at the entrance of the office building, he added, “Serenity is here, and she’s even carrying an insulated lunch box. She brought him lunch.”
No wonder Zachary had been anxious for him to take Nana and leave; he didn’t want her to be a third wheel.
Nana paused and squinted for a moment before saying, “That’s definitely Seren. Hurry and call your cousin to remind him to switch rooms. Let him use yours, but don’t let Seren find out.”
Callum nodded in agreement and called Zachary.
Even without Callum’s warning, Zachary had already known that Serenity had arrived.
He had a pair of binoculars in his drawer and, after sending Nana on her way, he stood by the window, peering down with the binoculars. Upon spotting Serenity’s car, he returned the binoculars to their place and hurried downstairs.
Callum drove out of the building with Nana.
He stopped at the office entrance and rolled down the window to greet Serenity.
“Nana, Callum,” Serenity said with a smile as she approached. “Nana, why are you here?”
Nana intentionally made a long face and replied, “It’s a long story, Seren. I’m going to have lunch first. I’m so hungry! I’ll talk to you tonight.”
“What happened? Okay, Nana, go enjoy your lunch first.”
“Serenity, I’m taking Nana out for lunch. Zachary’s still in his office. You can call him, and he’ll come out to get you.”
Once Callum finished speaking, he drove away with Nana.
After

After driving for a while, he chuckled and said, “Fortunately, I’ve been using this car for my daily commute to avoid raising Serenity’s suspicions about me driving a luxury vehicle. If she ever doubts my intentions, Zachary would have my head.”

“I think his façade will soon crumble,” Nana remarked.

“It will be interesting to see how he attempts to fix things then. Callum, you better not take any cues from him.”

“I find it entertaining. You can truly gauge whether someone is interested in you as a person or just your status when you conceal your identity.”

Nana could only remain silent in response.

Their family’s circumstances often led to encounters with individuals who were solely interested in them for their identity and status.

As Nana and Callum drove away, Serenity was about to call Zachary when he emerged from the building.

“Mr. York,” she greeted, approaching him with an insulated lunch box in hand.

Zachary had spent the entire morning busy and relied on two cups of coffee to push through. He felt drained, but the moment he saw Serenity approaching with a smile, he suddenly felt that all his hard work was worth it, no matter how exhausted he was.

“You’re finished with work, right?”

Zachary nodded. “Just now.”

Serenity noticed a large number of people leaving the office building, creating a crowd reminiscent of summer holiday bus stations.

These individuals were the industry’s elite.

Having never worked in a corporate environment before, Serenity felt a twinge of envy seeing them all in their sharp, professional suits that exuded competence. Still, she preferred her current job, where she could feel more at ease.

“The food is all…

“It’s freshly cooked. You should eat it while it’s still hot.” Serenity handed the insulated lunch box to Zachary. “Will you take it back to your office to eat or have it in my car?” Zachary reached for the lunch box and looked at her. “I don’t have an appetite when I eat alone.”
