“Send him back?! Why did you two insist on staying in a hotel? Are you both doing something behind my back? Are you?!” Liberty shouted into the phone, her voice trembling with anger.
On the other end, Jessica remained calm, a smile playing on her lips.
“Jessica Yates, are you with my husband? What have you two done?!” Liberty roared.
“Hank is drunk, so I need to take care of him. Staying in the same room is more convenient. We haven’t done anything, Mrs. Brown. Don’t overthink it. I’m just looking after Hank on your behalf, so you should be thanking me, not yelling at me.” Liberty felt a wave of disgust wash over her as Jessica referred to her as Mrs. Brown.
It was true; mistresses often had a thick skin.
She reminded herself to endure and listen to the nonsense Jessica was spewing.
“I don’t need you to look after my husband. Give me the hotel’s address right now, and I’ll pick him up.”
Jessica responded gently, “Mrs. Brown, you still have to care for your son. It’s already midnight. If you come to pick up Hank, who will watch over your child? Don’t worry, I’m here to ensure Hank is taken care of. It’s late, so you should get some rest.”
With that, Jessica hung up the phone, guessing that Liberty would be furious at home. Once the call ended, Liberty checked her recording to confirm it had been saved.
She cursed Hank after saving the recording.
Beep.
Liberty received a new message on WhatsApp.
She opened it to find it was from Hank. Or rather, it was sent by Jessica using Hank’s phone. It contained the location of the hotel.
The hotel included a message typed by Jessica. (This is the address. Are you free to come over?) Liberty was furious upon reading it. Jessica could no longer contain herself and wanted to confront her openly.
