Married at First Sight Chapter 377

Chapter 377
Sonny soon fell asleep in his mother’s arms.
Liberty seized the opportunity of his slumber to hand him over to her sister. She was immensely grateful that Serenity and her husband had hired Mrs. Lane to help care for Sonny.
Although she was not yet fully independent, she would always remember Serenity and Zachary’s kindness. When she was able to stand on her own, she would repay them generously.
Liberty then went to work.
Elisa received a phone call from a friend. The others couldn’t hear what was said, but after the call, Elisa quickly bid farewell to Serenity and Jasmine before leaving in a hurry.
“Jasmine, please watch the shop with Sonny for a bit. I’ll take Mrs. Lane to buy some bedding.”
Serenity had not forgotten that she needed to purchase a bed, cabinets, and bedding for Mrs. Lane.
“Sure,”
Jasmine readily agreed. Business would be slow until the students finished their classes in the evening.
She often read novels to pass the time.
Mrs. Lane remarked, “Ms. Hunt, you could go buy it yourself. Sonny will need someone to look after him when he wakes up.”
Mrs. Lane felt heartbroken for Sonny when she learned about his grandmother.
As Elisa had said, why wasn’t he cherished when he was so adorable?
Mrs. Lane thought, ‘Liberty’s in-laws treat Sonny this way despite him being a boy. I can only imagine how they would treat a girl. Thankfully, she’s getting a divorce.’
‘It’s better for her to leave.’
‘She should have divorced a long time ago with a family like that.’
Since Mrs. Lane insisted on staying, Serenity drove herself to help Mrs. Lane purchase a bed and cabinet.
She spent the entire afternoon shopping and rushed back to the store in the evening, bracing herself for the rest of the day.

During peak hours, her sister returned from work to pick up Sonny. Jasmine also went home, leaving Mrs. Lane and Serenity to guard the store.

Half an hour later, Zachary arrived.

“Are you not working overtime?”

Serenity watched her husband enter with calm, steady steps. His presence was so commanding that she found herself momentarily captivated.

His face was undeniably handsome, radiating masculine charm.

“I finished everything at work and got off early.” “Mr. York,” Mrs. Lane greeted him. Zachary nodded in her direction and pulled a chair to sit in front of Serenity.

Serenity shifted her gaze away from him and returned to her crafting.

Zachary felt a hint of disappointment.

Upon entering, he had clearly noticed the admiration in her eyes. However, after exchanging a few words, she focused back on her work.

It seemed his charm was not enough to make her swoon.

After watching her for a while, he asked in a warm, deep voice, “How’s your online store doing lately?”

“In short, it’s great. Long story short, it’s really great!” Zachary chuckled at her response. “It’s wonderful that business is thriving, but don’t overwork yourself. If you get too tired…”

He left the last part unsaid.

A flicker of annoyance crossed him; why couldn’t he be bold enough to say what he truly felt?

Perhaps it was his lack of experience. Who could he ask to gain more insight?
