Chapter 347
Jasmine remarked, “Do you really believe it doesn’t mean anything? Seren, if you both have feelings for each other, you should take the chance while you can. I’m still waiting to attend your actual wedding so I can be your bridesmaid!”
Jasmine playfully teased her friend.
“You’re thinking too far ahead.”
“I don’t think so at all. Haha! Seren, I’m going to grab a cup of coffee with Shawn. What would you like? I’ll pick up something for you later.”
Serenity pondered for a moment and replied, “Just get me a cup of milk tea, please.”
“Okay,” Jasmine responded immediately. “You keep an eye on the store. I’m off for coffee.”
“Go ahead!”
At this time, the store wasn’t busy anyway. Serenity could either nap at the cashier or work on her handicrafts.
With that, Jasmine left.
Shawn was waiting outside.
As Jasmine stepped out, the smile on her face faded. “Let’s go.”
She walked directly to Shawn’s car.
Noticing his cousin’s serious expression, Shawn felt an unexplainable pang of guilt. Meanwhile, at York Corporation, Zachary exited the elevator with a cheerful demeanor.
Mr. Chaplin approached him with a letter in hand.
“Boss, Mr. Bucham asked me to deliver this letter to you personally. He mentioned it pertains to your wife.”
Only a handful of people in the company were aware that the CEO was married, and Mr. Chaplin was fortunate enough to be one of them.
Zachary accepted the letter without a word and headed straight to his office. Once seated in his black swivel chair, he opened the envelope and unfolded the letter inside. However, it turned out to be anonymous, and the message was straightforward: it informed him that Serenity had assisted Elisa in devising ways to annoy him.
Zachary called…
Josh was waiting eagerly for his boss to call him.
“Who wrote this letter?”
Josh informed Zachary that it was connected to Serenity, indicating that he must have known the author of the letter.
“Your brother-in-law.”
“My mother-in-law gave birth only to Liberty and my wife, so I don’t have a brother-in-law.”
Josh chuckled. “Well, close enough. The Hunts are part of your wife’s family. Although they aren’t siblings, they are cousins and still related by blood.”
Zachary replied coldly, “They’re not worthy!”
“John Hunt wrote the letter,” Josh finally revealed after teasing Zachary.
“He doesn’t know you’re the CEO of York Corporation. He only knows that Mr. York is tired of Elisa’s pestering, so he wrote this anonymous letter to Mr. York, thinking he could handle your wife.”
Josh laughed. “Boss, this situation is getting more interesting!”
Zachary’s decision to conceal his identity had led to numerous complications. It was rather amusing that John intended to use Zachary to deal with Serenity.
If the money-hungry Hunts discovered that Serenity’s husband was the heir to the York family, would they be frightened? What would their reaction be upon realizing they tried to manipulate Zachary against Serenity? Josh, who was enjoying the unfolding drama, was reluctant to see it end so quickly. Yet, he hoped Zachary would reveal his identity soon and scare those greedy individuals away.
“John can still keep causing trouble? Josh, you didn’t resolve this issue effectively this time.”
