What do you think about the Audi RS8? It’s a powerful vehicle and would suit you perfectly!”
Jason had long been infatuated with Claire, and his invitation to her today was part of a strategy to win her over by flaunting his wealth and influence under the pretense of discussing renovations for the convention and exhibition center.
Jessica was aware of Jason’s interest in Claire, so she quickly interjected, “Claire, this is a generous gesture from Mr. Grant. You really shouldn’t turn down his kind offer.”
However, Claire promptly declined, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Grant, but I cannot accept such an extravagant gift from you.”
Jason chuckled and replied, “The Audi RS8 is only two million dollars. To me, that’s just pocket change. If you like it, I’ll buy it for you right now.”
Charlie shot Jason an icy look and said, “No thanks. We already have our own cars, and even if Claire wanted a new one, she wouldn’t accept it from you.”
Jason, with a sarcastic tone, retorted, “So, are you planning to buy her a new car instead? Let’s be real—what car could you afford in this showroom today?”
Charlie grinned as he gestured towards the Aston Martin ONE-77 and the limited edition Bugatti Veyron on the highest platform. “How about those two cars that you can’t afford?”
“Oh, come on!” Jason assumed Charlie was mocking him for lacking the funds to buy those cars. He replied coldly, “Don’t be so arrogant, young man. I can buy any car in this exhibition hall, except for those two. Can you say the same?”
Charlie smiled and said, “If I were to gift Claire a new car, it would definitely be one of those two.”
“Hahaha!” Jason burst into laughter, saying, “Do you even know what those sports cars are? You’re just talking nonsense. I’m not belittling you, but those cars are under strict security. You wouldn’t even get near them, let alone buy one!”
Charlie replied with a confident grin, “I think you’re the one who wouldn’t be able to get close to those cars. You can’t touch them, right?”
Jason immediately sneered. “The Aurous Hill Convention and Exhibition Center is owned by my family. Do you really think I lack the influence to get close to those cars? The security guards would certainly grant me access.”
Charlie shrugged and replied, “I believe we’re both in the same situation. If I can’t touch the cars, neither can you.”
Jason’s anger flared at Charlie’s words. Gritting his teeth, he said, “Do you really think you’re worthy of being compared to me?”
Charlie nodded confidently, “Absolutely. As I said, there isn’t much separating us. If you doubt it, why not go ahead and try touching those cars?”
“Okay!” Jason eagerly accepted the challenge. “Just wait and see. I’ll prove that I can touch the cars whenever I want!”
With that, Jason pushed through the crowd, making his way to the highest platform.
Charlie maintained a cold expression. Graham and Zeke had gifted him those two cars and had already paid for security to protect them. In fact, the guards had been instructed to ensure that no one touched those cars before Charlie did.
If Jason succeeded in reaching the cars today, Charlie would definitely confront Graham and Zeke later. They would have to face consequences for their negligence!
