BUHLE: THE MOUNT QUEEN.

002

BUHLEBENDALO MGABADELI.

-I was sitting in my room and my maids were assisting in cleaning the royal house because there were guests coming, my mind was lost in what was happening and it was worrying me because what if I’m not doing somethings right and this is a punishment from the gods. I can’t this land and I need to rebuild inkala land because that is where we all belong and not this one.

“Can I come in?” Lufefe uttered at the door softly knocking.

“Come in if you aren’t here to judge my decisions” I said looking at the window.

“Listen I’m sorry about earlier, i didn’t mean all that but ndalo I’m worried about you because all of this is really too much for you” he said while sitting next to me and held my hand.

“You my little sister and keeping you safe and making you happy is my only priority in this world, we are orphans siyintandane and we need to take care of each other” he said with his eyes full of concern and care, it softed my heart.

“I know you are worried about me but there’s no need to worry because I got this” I said.

“I know you are and always been but I think it’s time you think twice about your decisions because we all know this isn’t the gods doing it’s a virus lurking around this village, magabadeli” he said trying to convince me to change my decision.

“Lufefe I think we went through this conversation yesterday and we had a solution” I said standing up from the bed and folded my arms looking the other way.

“Ndalo this isn’t about iyinyanya (ancestors), our ancestors lives in the lands of inkala. That’s were we left them this is a real serious situation sis, why can’t you understand that we need all the help we need even from the ones who aren’t worth helping. Where will we get so much money to pay both the tradional and city doctor? I hope you have a plan” he said and stepped out of the room.

-His words got pinned in my mind, what if he was telling the truth and I was being stubborn? But I can’t afford to lose my people and the tradional doctor might help, he can help but can he heal them? maybe there will be some medicine that will help heal my people, tradional doctor it is. I can’t let a city folk into my land so they can rob us of our wealth once more like they did to our ancestors.

A moment later one of my royal guard came running inside my room.

“Your majesty, there are villagers outside who want to see you and they look angry” he said breathing heavily.

“Angry? Okay let’s go” I said pulling my dress heading to the door.

-Went outside and there at the royal gates were six men and two women, they looked frustrated indeed. I assigned the guards to let them in and they did, lufefe and unathi came outside after hearing the noise outside.

“What is going on here?” I said addressing to the elderly man.

“Ndlovukazi we are tired, Sikhathele” he said.

“We are suffering your majesty and you don’t seem to be worried about that” an arrogant looking lady uttered.

“Listen if it’s about the people that died, I’m still on that matter and I found someone to investigate on this situation. Please calm down and wait for help” I said trying to calm them down.

“We can’t wait any longer Ndlovukazi this matter is serious and it needs to be stopped” another man added.

“What did the sangoma (tradional doctor) say?” I whispered to unathi who i sent to fetch the tradional doctor for me.

“He said he needs a small amount money to be able to do this job” he whispered back.

“How much?” I asked.

“100k in cash or gold” he responded.

“WHAT? hayi ngeke uyahlanya!” I said out loud and the villagers looked at me.

“We need help ndlovukazi and if you can’t help us we will be forced to remove you from that throw and put a more responsible person” the old man yapped that sentence of his made me angry.

“Send this message to my villagers, I will help you get through this no matter what the cost so that’s why my brother here hired a doctor from the city to come and investigate on this matter” I said trying to defend my throne because I couldn’t afford to lose this throne it’s a tradition.

“Yes and he will be arriving this afternoon, don’t be worried he will help us get through this be patient” my brother added supporting me.

-The villagers mumbled leaving, I turned and looked at my brother who was assigning the drivers to go to the airport to pick up his doctor. I approached him then I sighted before speaking, this will be hard.

“I think you were right about this situation, yes it’s about life and death maybe the doctor can help the villagers” I said.

“I’m glad we could agree on something” he said smiling.

“But if we get robbed, the blame will be put on you” i said walking away from him, city folks are cunning people.

NIKITHEMBA SONTUTHU.

-We got off the plane looking fresh, but as soon as we got closer to the outside it was super cold.

“Damn this place is cold as hell” I said pulling my jacket.

“Hell isn’t cold, plus this like a daily weather here so get comfortable” susan uttered.

“I’m going to die!” I said.

-We pulled our bags heading to the exit where we found two men holding a cardboard written my surname, we approached them and told them that I was doctor sontuthu. They escorted us to a black avanza and we got in even though I hesitated more than fifteen times because the car was in no good shape to be driven on the road but susan managed to get me inside and we drove off.

“If we get into an accident I will blame you” I said referring to susan.

“Relax these people know what they are doing, so what do you think now?” She asked smiling.

“I’m giving this transport a -1/10 because it’s poor, what did I expect anyways” I said closing the window.

“Urgh themba can you be professional for once because we are not here for a vacation we are working torho” she said begging.

“Even if we were taking a vacation it wouldn’t be here” I uttered, she looked at me with a serious face and folded her eyes.

“Okay fine, I’ll be professional until we are out with that money” I said playfully punching her then she smiled.

“That’s the spirit” she said.

-We drove for 4 hours from the city to the village where we were going it was really far away, susan fell asleep because she was tired and I was up watching the view and sported a beautiful mountain. I quickly took out my phone and took a picture of it, atleast there is something I like about this place apart from the environment and people.

-Finally we arrived at the village, like I said those people are not good looking at all. I saw people carrying buckets going to the river, other’s were cleaning their houses and I saw a variety of people who were sick maybe this place does need a doctor but it’s not me, I’m here for the money. We arrived at the royal house and the gates opened the car got in and the parked inside then a young lady came out of the house, her outfit told me that she might be a princess or something. I woke susan up and we got out of the car walking towards that lady, I putted my bags down and the guards took them inside.

“Sup princess” I said saluting her but she didn’t even smile.

“This a royal house we do not speak gangster language we speak properly so fix your words before I send you back” she said looking serious, I just laughed.

“Listen daddy’s little princess we are not here for you we are here to help the king and the villagers so please” I uttered then a tallman around my age walked out of the house and I assumed that he must be the king.

“Hi I’m doctor sontuthu and this is my nurse, susan” I said offering a handing shake.

“Nice to meet both of you and we are glad that you are finally here” he said shaking my hand.

“Our pleasure, i assume you must be the king” I said but he giggled.

“No I’m not, this is queen Buhlebendalo” he said referring to the young lady next to him, ouch? I didn’t know she was the queen but why is she so arrogant.

“Ow so you are the queen, our apologies your majest we didn’t see you there” I said bowing and lifted my head up turning into my original posture.

“Keep this doctor of yours in his lane if he still wants this doctor” she said looking at the other guy then walked away, damn she is savage this queen thingy suits her.

“Let me show you to your rooms” he said.

-I must admit the house was beautiful and the services were fair but I didn’t want to be here and I need to work fast so I can get out of here ASAP.
