The second text from Isabelle that Amerie chose not to read while she was on her way to see Shane is what leads to this fight lasting longer than it probably would have had Isabelle not sent it.
In it, she called Amerie childish and accused her of living in an imaginary world where things are perfect. She took it upon herself to remind her that nobody is perfect and that when someone is sincere and asks for your forgiveness then you don’t have to keep dragging and delaying the process and she still insisted that Chase was sorry for what happened, the last part was that one day, Amerie will wake up and it will be too late, she would have lost the one guy who truly loves and wants to marry her, and it will all be because she cannot have a forgiving heart.
Amerie only read this message when she was back at her place and it angered her to the last level, it left her fuming. She decided that she wasn’t going to let her sister make her feel like she’s the wrong one and she was also done being the bigger person so in response to the text, she sent one back which read “I don’t know when Chase appointed you to be his spokes woman but you seem to be doing a better job at it than you being a big sister. I’m not you, Isabelle. I refuse to let a man stomp all over my heart, repeatedly take me for granted and apologize knowing that he will do the same ‘mistake’ and then have me forgive him when he comes back to beg. Chase made no mistake, he knew exactly what he was doing, just like every cheater always knows what they are doing and they don’t care because they think they will always get away with it. Unfortunately for him, I’m not going to sacrifice my heart and peace of mind simply because you believe he deserves a second chance, how did you even reach the conclusion that I would agree to get married to someone like him? If you feel so strongly about Chase then you go ahead and give him that chance because I won’t be part of whatever it is that you’re trying to force me into. I deserve better and I know it, I also won’t downplay it just to make you happy. I’ll move on as many times as I want to until I get what I know I’m worthy of, I won’t settle for a cheater, never. Get that through your head and stop trying to force me into it. Stop trying to turn me into you,”
This is the text that fueled the now two weeks long feud and they haven’t spoken since. Isabelle feels disrespected and is offended by what Amerie said meanwhile Amerie just couldn’t care less. She said what she said… But deep down, there is a ping of guilt.
Amerie took a decision to focus on her new relationship with Shane and it’s been absolutely amazing. She’s in a happy place and it’s been weeks of bliss. They talk everyday and this isn’t one sided, they both make an effort. She’s also been to his house a couple more times, they’ve been getting closer and not just emotionally but physically too. It started with a kiss, then a touch and each time they are making out they both feel their strings of self-control start to weaken. There is no time frame for when they can go all the way, they just haven’t been rushing into it but Amerie feels like any day now, she will give in with the way he always makes her feel when they start making out.
It’s Friday and she just knocked off. Isabelle left already and she’s already home. Amerie knows this because she saw the pictures that her sister posted of her and her son, Noah with the caption “It feels so good to be around people who genuinely care about you,I’ve missed this. ” she rolled her eyes when she saw this during her lunch hour and then wondered what Isabelle told their parents because they were supposed to show up together but she didn’t bother texting to ask, she just simply started making arrangements for her to get home this evening. When she spoke to Shane and told him that Isabelle left her, he offered to drive her and also come to get her if her and Isabelle have not made up by Sunday morning.
She gets home and meets Leona by the door, they both go straight to Amerie’s bedroom to pack while Amerie fills her in on Isabelle’s latest stunt.
“I like Isa but this is too much, she’s doing too much now. What’s her problem?” Leona asks and Amerie shrugs.
“Don’t know, don’t care. Please pass me that dress,” She points and Leona removes from the hanger, carefully folds it and then hands it to her.
“So how are you two going to exist in each other’s space when the tension is this thick?”
“I don’t know,” there goes that answer. She always does this when she’s upset and it always leaves her frustrated with her.
Leona huffs “What do you know then, Amerie?”
“I know that we need to hurry and I need to take a quick shower before Shane arrives. He’s already doing me a favor, the least I can do is not waste his time so he can drive back before it’s too late,”
“Daddy Shane to the rescue, okay, I’m loving this,” Leona says dreamily while packing up her best friend’s toiletry bag and Amerie blushes at the thought of him. “So, am I going to meet him today? I promise I won’t make it awkward,”
“Well, you could walk me down to his car. That way you get to see him without me making the whole thing formal,”
“Yes girl, I like the way you think and I can’t wait. He sounds like a sweetheart, always coming to your rescue, literally,” she jokes and they both laugh. It takes Amerie back to the day she met him and he took her home.
“You know, now that I think about it. The man might just start thinking I’m with him for the free rides,” she tells Leona and they seem to be thinking the same thing before they bust out in loud laughter.
“That would be a justified thought, the man has been giving you rides since he met you,”
“If only he could give me the ultimate ride,” she lowly says and Leona eyes her.
“Amerie, you naughty girl!”
Amerie laughs at this “I’m just saying,”
“Say it to him then,”
“What? No way… I could never,”
“Why not? You guys are in a relationship, right?”
“We are,”
“So? Tell him you want him… Or better yet, show him,”
“Uh-uhh, I’m not that brave, you know that,” she shakes her head.
“You will suffer in silence then because the man might be thinking that you’re not ready so he will take things slow with you,”
“We will both suffer in silence you mean, because he’s also not getting some,” she smirks then frowns “Unless-”
“No, no we are not doing that. We are not using the same dirty brush to paint all these men. Don’t let your mind do that to you. Daddy Shane is not like whoring Chase,” Leona scolds her and she brings back her right senses.
“I know, you’re right… I let my thoughts go wild for a second there,”
“Don’t do that to yourself and Daddy Shane, he will not appreciate being compared to your cheating ex-boyfriend,”
“That’s true. Will you zip everything up for me while I quickly jump in the shower?”
“Of course, hurry,”
“Answer when Shane calls,” she yells while going into the bathroom.
Moments later, she’s out and getting dressed. It’s already dark outside and she has confirmed with her mother that she’s on her way. They were worried when Isabelle showed up alone and her father didn’t want her taking taxis so late but she made up a lie and told her that a friend was headed in the same direction so she would drop her off, that put them at ease.
She has everything zipped up in her small size suitcase and has her sling bag with her then she’s ready to go. Shane also called to let her know he’s here already. She gets in the elevator with Leona and it takes them to the ground floor then they walk to the visitors parking where Shane is. He’s standing outside his car and he first hugs and kisses her on the lips before taking her suitcase and putting it at the back then he comes back to the two ladies and she takes that chance to introduce them “Love, this is Leona. Lee, this is Shane,”
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Leona,” Shane says offering his hand for a handshake and Leona takes it.
“Same here, Shane,” she smiles “let me not waste your time, it’s already late. Bestie, have a safe trip and let me know when you arrive,” she goes to hug Amerie. Then turns to Shane “Drive safe,” it comes as a warning rather than a well wish.
“I’ll make sure she arrives safely and in one piece,” he responds and Leona nods then leaves then waits for his car to start moving before she goes back to the building.
“There’s food at the back,” Shane tells Amerie and she immediately looks behind and sees the brown paperbag. She got so busy that she forgot to eat, today was just hectic.
“Thank you. You think of everything, don’t you?”
“I know you neglect to eat, it’s your favorite thing to do,” he teases her and she tries to make a face but ends up smiling. It’s these gestures that are making her fall.
They listen to his kind of music while she eats and when she’s done, he spends a lot of time holding her hand and taking quick glances at her while they talk about how excited she is to be going home “When last did you see them?”
“It’s been months. Both Isa and I got busy and we normally wait for the other to be available so we can go,”
“I hope you won’t let what’s happening between you and her spoil your weekend,”
“Never, I always make the most of my time at home. I hardly get to see my parents so when I do, I always make sure to end it on a good note,”
“That’s good, they must be looking forward to seeing you too,”
“Yes they are… What about you? You never speak about your family,”
“That’s because I’m looking to have you as my family,” he smirks but she doesn’t buy it.
“I’m being serious, Shane. There must be someone out there,”
He sighs, she’s not wrong to ask these questions and it would be concerning if she didn’t show interest in his life “I do have an aunt that I used to be close with then there’s distant relatives, cousins that I talk to sometimes,”
“An aunt from which side?”
“My mother’s side. I don’t have any relations to my father’s side, he was a rolling stone and I don’t know where he ended up,”
“You say you and your aunt were close… What happened?”
“We drifted apart around the time when my mother and little brother died. A lot of things changed then,” he says and can hardly hide the sadness in his tone. That’s when she decides to stop with the questions, she already knows that the death of his mother and brother is a no go topic and she sees no need to make him upset, he will open up in time and her curiosity about what happened to make the aunt pull away can wait.
She reaches for his free hand and he looks at her for a second before focusing back on the road “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you,”
“It’s okay, it’s not you… I just don’t like talking about the past. Everyone who isn’t in my life made their own choice and I respect that, I just don’t like talking about it or them,”
“And we don’t have to, we can talk about us instead and how much I’m going to miss you,” now this gets his face to lighten up.
“Maybe you can come sleep over at my house in Sunday?” He becomes hopeful.
“I’d like that, will we sleep on the same bed or you’ll chuck me into a guest bedroom?” she knows exactly why she’s asking this question and this gets him to laugh a little.
“Or you could just go ahead and ask what’s on your mind, Amerie,”
“Me? I have nothing… I’m just asking,”
“I never pegged you for a liar,” this catches her off guard and she purses her lips. She can be forward when she wants to but not when he’s talking to her like a daddy. His separates their hands and places his on her thigh than he drags it up, pulling her dress up too and when he’s close feeling the material of her underwear, he stops and leaves it there “tell you what. Come over on Sunday and I’ll answer all these things that are supposedly not on your mind, right?”
She nods at this, feeling the effect of his hand so close to where it’s beginning to ache. He notices when she presses her thighs together and her silence does not need to be questioned but he still asks” Are you okay, love? ”
” Mhh, “she hums in response.
He is forced to slow down when they reach a construction site on the road. All four lanes are forced to merge into one, leading to a very slow moving traffic and at some point they are forced to be at a standstill as the trucks in front of them try to go up the steep. That’s when Shane gets an idea.
He puts his hand on her thigh again “I want you to do something for me, is that okay?” she quickly reads his words and agrees.
“Yes,”
“Good. First take off your panties completely then spread your legs for me,” he commands and she swears it has just gotten hot in this car.
She does as told, sliding off her underwear and kicking it off the she spreads her legs. Shane starts from her knee and gently drags his hand up until it comes into contact with her warm and wet pussy. He first covers it with his hand, making up and down movements then he uses his fingers to part the lips and his middle finger to find her clit and when he presses it she jolts a little “stay still, love or I’m going to have to stop. Do you want me to stop?”
“No,” she says in a moan.
“Good, because I don’t want to stop either,” he continues to massage her clit and pinch it a little which makes her moan loudly. He strokes her clit downwards to the top and tries it from different angles to see which one works for her, her reactions guide him and the wetter she gets, the more intense he makes this session out to be, when he moves a finger towards her opens her teases a little, coating his fingers with her wetness before he pushes a finger inside her tight hole
“Ohh,” she begins and immediately uses a hand to cover her mouth.
“Remove that hand, love. I want to hear those noises and no one else will hear you,” even if they could, he would still want to hear her moans, they are music to his ears.
He starts moving his finger in and out, slowly, and then he adds a second one and really starts fingering her while his thumb still pays attention to the little button that will set her off from the stimulation he’s giving it as well as the pleasure that’s coming from the penetration of his two fingers that are moving in and around her p#ssy walls that start clenching on his fingers, signaling that she’s getting closer to coming undone in his car.
“Oh my gosh, Shane,”
“Yes, love? What is it?”
“I.. I.. Ahh,” she throws her head back, unable to form a proper sentence.
“Talk to me, love. Do you like this?”
“So much, yes,”
“That’s my girl, let your body loose for me, Amerie. I want to feel your fluids all over my fingers, go ahead and do me the pleasure, love,” he commands yet again and her body abides, she feels the pressure fom deep within and then it happens, her eyes shut and she cries out his name as she feels herself come undone on his car seat. Gosh, he just took her on a ride, in this ride.
Her chest rises and falls hard as she breathes in and out through her parted lips and it takes a moment for her to compose herself and she’s taken by surprise when she sees the man cleaning his fingers with his tongue, something about how his slowly doing it is just arousing. She leans forward to put on her underwear.
“Leave it there,”
“You want me to step out of this car without it?”
“You’ll still be covered but then when you keep remembering that you are without it, you’ll also remember where you took it off and what followed after that. Leave it on the floor,”
The rest of the ride is filled with her replaying what just happened and anticipating what’s to come on Sunday. When she arrives home it’s too dark and the street is empty, there’s just some of the street lights that are providing deemed lights. They don’t waste time because she doesn’t want her parents to come out. She gives him a kiss and asks that he stays inside the car incase someone comes out. He doesn’t argue this, he knows the many reasons why she might not be ready to have him be seen and he respects that. He opens his window when she’s gotten her suitcase and sling bag “Call me when you arrive, please,”
“You might be sleeping by then,”
“I won’t sleep until I know you are home safe,” she tells him and that bring on this warm feeling on his chest.
“I’ll call you,”
“Okay, I’ll get going now. Wish me luck,” she chuckles.
“Try not to beat up anyone,” he says and she laughs.
“I’ll be on my best behavior,”
He drives off and she enters through the gate then rolls her suitcase all the way to the front door where she knocks once and then opens the door. Her nephew is the first to spot her “Aunty Amy!!” he screams while running towards her and she welcomes him into her arms then picks him up and showers his cute cheeks with kisses.
“My sweet Noah, you’re so grown,”
“Yes, mommy says I’m a big boy now,”
“And she’s so right, look at you,”
“Amerie, I was starting to worry,” her mother says following the noise.
Amerie puts Noah down and hugs her mother “We got delayed by the construction, mom,”
“Oh these people, forever starting projects that take years to finish. Now we can’t get to our destinations on time. But you traveled well?”
“Yes, I did,”
“I was surprised when your sister arrived alone…”
“Yes Aunty, why didn’t you come with mommy?” Noah comes in and she’s not sure how to answer.
“Aunty was delayed at work my boy and I couldn’t meet your mommy on time. Where’s grandpa?” she directs the conversation elsewhere and it’s her mother who answers.
“He’s in the living room with Isa, we will talk,” Mrs. Philander eyes her daughter and Amerie just nods. Noah offers to push her suitcase to her bedroom and she lets him then she follows her mother to the living room. Her father gets up when he sees her and they share a hug
” My Amy, you know I don’t want you traveling so late,”
“I know but I didn’t use public transport, my friend dropped me off right by the gate,”
“That’s a little comforting, although I still don’t understand why you and your sister didn’t stick to your arrangement,”
“I’m here now, that’s what matters. I missed you guys so much”
“We missed you too, princess,” he says and her eyes meet Isabelle who is focused on the TV.
“Isa,” she says and Isabelle gives her a blank stare then gets up without saying a word back to her little sister.
“Isabelle, where are you going?” her mother asks.
“To check on Noah,” she walks out and Amerie finds both parents looking at her.
“What’s going on between the two of you?” her father asks.
“I don’t know.” Amerie chooses her go to answer then gets comfortable on the couch with her parents, weekends at home are meant to be fun and cosy, she’s not about to rob herself of that moment because Isabelle is behaving like a bogus college therapist graduate.
