Chapter 96

Genevieve didn’t turn around, but she smiled and said, “No need.”

Seeing how confident Genevieve looked, Tristan simply nodded and didn’t press further. He trusted her unconditionally.

Genevieve arrived in Mylin a day early. The International Perfume Summit was held there, in one of the world’s most prestigious exhibition centers.

The air was filled with the scent of masterpieces crafted by top perfumers from across the globe. Countless scents intertwined and collided, yet somehow, an exquisite balance was still maintained.

Genevieve wore a minimalist black silk dress. Her hair was swept into a loose bun, revealing the graceful line of her neck. She wore no makeup, yet she was still the most eye–catching person in the area.

As the head of URI Corporation, Tristan attended as a special guest and stayed close to Genevieve’s side. The moment the two appeared together, a ripple of excitement spread through the venue.

“Is that Cen? She’s way too young and beautiful!”

“Is the man next to her Tristan Hale from URI Corporation? How are they together?”

“A handsome man and a beautiful woman. This is a visual feast!”

Amid the hushed chatter, an untimely voice cut through the crowd. “What genius perfumer? She’s just a woman who climbed her way up through men!”

Everyone turned toward the source of the voice. Regina stood there in an extravagant white dress, glaring at Genevieve with jealousy. A few socialites clustered around her. It was obvious that she had come prepared.

Regina had gained access to the event thanks to the Landers family. Judging from that, being with James didn’t seem so bad after all. At least, he was more promising than Zachary.

The venue fell silent, and all eyes focused on Genevieve and Regina. Before Genevieve could speak, Hannah stepped forward to meet Regina.

Hannah said, “Ms. Sloane, you can eat recklessly, but you can’t talk carelessly. You claim that Cen got here because Mr. Hale pulled strings. Can you prove that?”

Regina lifted her chin arrogantly and pointed at Genevieve. “What proof do you need? She’s nothing but an orphan. If Tristan hadn’t paved the way for her behind the scenes, how would she even be?”

Regina said it with absolute confidence. Some onlookers who didn’t know the full story began whispering again. Their gazes toward Genevieve were tinged with disdain.

Hannah didn’t get angry. Instead, she laughed. She reached into her briefcase and pulled out a thick stack of documents. Then, she slammed them onto the display table with a loud thud.

She shouted, “Ms. Sloane, open your eyes and take a good look! This is Cen’s Gold Award certificate from the Frencian Rising Perfumer Competition three years ago. The judge was Mr. Sage Pierre, who is the chairman of the World Perfumers Association!

“This is from two years ago, when Cen customized the fragrance Eternal Night for the royal family. To this day, it remains the official scent used by Eurian royalty.

“As for this, it won the highest honor at the Mylin International Fragrance Awards, which was the Golden Iris trophy last year! The winning piece was hailed as the most inspired work of the past decade!

‘Are these enough?”

With every sentence, Hannah flipped a page, displaying the evidence clearly for everyone to see. The entire venue was dead

silent.

Regina had never imagined that Genevieve would have come fully prepared or that she would have arranged for all of this in advance.

She protested, making one last desperate attempt, “This is impossible! These must all be fake!”

Hannah sneered. She raised her phone and opened an international livestream platform. “Fake? What a coincidence. Mr. Pierre is also at the summit today. Why don’t we verify it face–to–face?”

When Regina saw the familiar face of the elderly Frencian on the screen, panic finally set in.

“My god! So she’s really Cen! I’m her fan!”

“This is humiliating! She has no talent of her own, yet she dares to smear a true genius!”

“Ms. Sloane? She’s such an idiot!”

Amid the pointing fingers and scathing remarks, Regina was escorted out by security. Just as the summit descended into chaos, another piece of news exploded across the internet at lightning speed.
