Chapter 87

As Stella watched in terror, Genevieve dabbed the tip of the little girl’s nose with her fingertip.

Then, Genevieve quickly added a few more strokes, and a small five–petal flower formed on Stella’s nose. It was exquisite and cheeky.

“Done.” Genevieve pulled her hand back and admired her work, saying, “You look even more like a princess out of a fairy tale

now.”

Stella was stunned.

Genevieve drew a flower on her nose? What kind of move was that?

She instinctively wanted to touch her nose, but Genevieve grabbed her wrist.

“Don’t touch it. It’ll get ruined,” said Genevieve.

Right then, the glass door to the balcony opened, and Tristan appeared at the door.

It was clear that he had heard the commotion earlier. With a slight frown, he scanned the mess on the floor and the stain on Genevieve’s shirt. At last, his gaze fixed on Stella, who had a golden flower on the tip of her nose.

He didn’t ask any questions. He just turned around and went into the living room. By the time he returned, he was holding a packet of wet wipes in his hands.

He walked up to Genevieve, pulled out a wet wipe, and said, “Come here. I’ll help you wipe it off.”

Genevieve wanted to turn him down, but seeing the serious look on his face, she swallowed the refusal on the tip of her

tongue.

The balcony wasn’t big to begin with. After putting the huge easel, a table, and a chair there, it had become even more cramped.

Tristan bent over a little. With a wet wipe in one hand, he gently held Genevieve’s shoulder with the other to stop her from moving.

He was very close to her, so much so that she could smell every note of his scent.

Genevieve’s heart raced uncontrollably.

Tristan was very focused as he wiped the paint off, and his movements were considered gentle. His fingertips brushed over the fabric at her chest through the thin sheet of wet wipe.

The indigo paint was too stubborn and wouldn’t come off at all. The wet wipe only managed to make it smudge, resulting in the stain growing larger.

Genevieve felt a little uncomfortable. She instinctively wanted to take a step back and put some distance between them.

“Don’t move,” Tristan ordered in a deep voice.

But she still retreated anyway.

Tristan reacted smoothly, pulling away the hand he had been using to wipe the stain off. Then, he wrapped his arm around her slender waist, making her stumble back a little and almost press her entire body against him.

Genevieve looked up, and their eyes met.

They were too close to each other.

Time seemed to freeze for a moment.

Suddenly, an ill–timed cough shattered the silence.

Stella watched as the two adults clung to each other tightly. For the first time, her little brain was extremely confused about what “hate” and “like” meant.

Once Genevieve snapped back to her senses, she immediately pushed Tristan away, and her cheeks flushed beyond her control.

She didn’t dare to take another look at him anymore as she said, “I–I’m going to go change.”

With that, she fled the scene.

Tristan remained standing in place, looking down at his empty hands. The soft touch of her waist and the warmth of her body still lingered on his fingertips.

Stella was still standing there behind him.

She glanced at Genevieve walking away and then at the man’s back before her.

After hesitating for a moment, she finally looked up and asked, “Hey, have you fallen for Genevieve?”

Tristan turned around slowly, pulling his gaze away from the tightly shut door and directing it toward Stella’s face.

He gently ruffled her hair, his movements surprisingly gentle.

“She’s outstanding enough and striking enough. It wouldn’t be strange for anyone to fall for her,” said Tristan.
