Chapter 65
At the same time, Tristan was in his office. Outside the window, the city lights sparkled, yet he wasn’t in the mood to enjoy the view. The smoke from his cigarette surrounded him.
Standing respectfully before him, Liam handed him a tablet.
He reported, “Mr. Hale, we’ve found something. The person who tampered with Mr. Lambert Senior’s medical records is the deputy head of the cardiology department at City Hospital, Dr. Noah Howell.
“This is a record of his bank transactions. Three days ago, an overseas account under his name received an anonymous transaction of 500 thousand dollars.”
Tristan took the tablet, his slender fingers swiping across the screen.
Not only was URI Corporation powerful and wealthy, but it also had a strong network of connections that spanned the entire globe. Tristan’s employees had already invited Noah over for a cup of coffee. In less than half an hour, he would be cornered.
Tristan’s voice was calm and devoid of any emotion. “Where did the money come from?”
“We traced the funds and checked every channel it went through before we finally found its source.”
Liam paused before continuing. “It was sent from Greg Sanders‘ Echo Art Studio.”
Tristan stilled. The ash from his cigarette burned his expensive suit pants, yet he paid it no mind.
Why would Greg do such a thing?
Was he an accomplice or the mastermind in this matter?
Genevieve’s face flashed in Tristan’s mind. He took his phone out, wanting to tell her of the news. His finger hovered over
the call button, yet he didn’t press it.
Would she believe him if he told her now? Would she think that this was another trick of his to manipulate and control her?
Tristan frowned. He cared far too much about Genevieve.
Frustrated, he stubbed his cigarette out and coldly instructed, “Keep investigating.”
Early the next morning, the sun’s rays filtered into Blossom Studio.
Hannah sneezed and rubbed her nose, looking up from under a stack of dusty old boxes.
“Gen, are you sure we’ll find a clue among Jennifer’s belongings?”
Jennifer had worked at the studio as an assistant, but she had played dirty and leaked their formulas to their competitors. In the end, Genevieve had fired her.
At the moment, Hannah and Genevieve were going through the things Jennifer never managed to pack and take with her.
The night before, Genevieve shared her suspicions about the Sloane family with Hannah. Without another thought, Hannah. came over in the morning to ransack Jennifer’s things.
She didn’t think it was the first time that Jennifer and Regina had worked together.
“It must have been a last–ditch effort.” Genevieve held a cup of coffee as she leaned against the doorframe. “The Sloane family made their money through dirty means.”
“Wasn’t that 30 years ago?” Hannah clicked her tongue. “Regina’s father was still young back then.”
She continued to insult them as she searched through Jennifer’s things. Just then, she pulled a piece of yellowed paper out of

an old folder.
It was a list of raw materials. The neat handwriting made it obvious Jennifer was the one who wrote it.
There were more than ten names of chemicals and plant extracts on the list. While most of it was normal, Hannah frowned
when she saw a few items.
She read their names out loud, “Aconitine, arrow poison tree extract, coriaria toxin…”
Then, she looked at Genevieve in confusion. “What are these? Are these ingredients used to make perfume? Or was she trying to kill someone?”
Genevieve’s expression shifted. She quickly walked over and took the list from Hannah.
