You Chose Her, so I Married Better Chapter 61

Chapter 61

Genevieve’s heart sank as she plugged the pen drive into her laptop.

The laptop screen lit up, and a video started to play. The timestamp in the corner of the screen clearly showed that it was the day of Raymond’s death.

It was the surveillance footage that the hospital staff said they had lost.

Genevieve held her breath as she watched it.

The footage showed a chaotic scene as numerous people walked to and fro.

A figure stood in the corner outside Raymond’s hospital room, lingering in the surveillance

camera’s blind spot. Wearing a flat cap, the man deliberately hid in the shadows. Yet, for a brief moment, he accidentally looked up.

Genevieve’s eyes

widened.

How could it be him?

She paused the video in disbelief and played it back several times.

Was it really Greg?

Why would he have been there?

Genevieve suddenly remembered Raymond telling her on his deathbed not to trust anyone.

A chill ran down her spine.

This was impossible! She had to be mistaken.

She closed her laptop, her chest heaving.

After a moment, she seemed to have made up her mind. She drew the curtains and opened a different black laptop.

Rows of green digits flickered across the screen. Genevieve’s fingers flew over the keyboard, and numerous rows of code appeared.

She imported the footage from the pen drive into an encryption software. Then she sent a message as Zero.

“Enhance this footage to the highest resolution. Start now.

The name Zero was one that elicited fear in people on the dark web. As long as she put her

mind to it, she could break any firewall and access any type of data.

The laptop began to run at full speed.

The blurry figure onscreen was covered by numerous lines of code as it was being analyzed

and reconstructed.

The pixels were slowly sharpened, and the figure became even clearer.

It was indeed Greg.

Genevieve leaned back in her chair, feeling extremely drained. She didn’t have the courage to continue watching the footage.

If it really was Greg, why did he approach her in the first place? Was Raymond’s death really

linked to him?

Hadn’t he just returned from overseas recently? She had never heard him mention that he had

bad blood with the Lambert family either.

The footage only showed that he had been standing outside Raymond’s hospital room. It couldn’t prove that he had actually done something to Raymond.

Genevieve forced herself to calm down. She had to investigate this matter even further.

Late at night, Tristan stood in front of the floor–to–ceiling window in the CEO’s office at URI Corporation. Though he was looking down at the bright lights of the city, the look in his eyes was darker than the night.

Liam knocked on the door before entering with a grave expression.

“Mr. Hale, we’ve found something.”

He handed Tristan a document.

“An hour before Mr. Lambert Senior’s death, he received a call from an anonymous virtual

number. We were unable to track its owner down.”

Tristan took the document. His gaze landed on the last sentence on it.

Liam continued, “However, we managed to pinpoint the location where the number last transmitted a signal.”

Tristan’s eyes flashed with interest.

“Where was it?”

“The Sloane residence in the suburbs.”

The atmosphere in the office grew even colder.

The Sloane family had some nerve to do such a thing.

Tristan lightly smirked, a murderous flash crossing his gaze. He took his phone out and dialed a number. Then, he said, “Keep a close eye on Regina and Zachary.”
