Chapter 6
The footage showed Zachary and Regina fooling around in all sorts of places. The camera angles were invasive, and the images were unnervingly clear.
“What the hell! Those disgusting bastards! They’re shameless!” Hannah cursed under her breath after a single glance.
Furious, she turned toward Genevieve, ready to comfort her. However, the words caught in her throat.
Genevieve hadn’t broken down as Hannah had expected. She simply stared at the screen, her expression calm to the point of
cold detachment.
Of course she knew that Zachary had been unfaithful, but she hadn’t realized that he could stoop this low.
What surprised her even more was the person who had sent her this “gift”. The mysterious owner of URI Corporation not only knew about her relationship with Zachary but had also somehow obtained explicit footage of him and Regina together.
After all, Genevieve was a renowned perfumer operating under the secret identity of Cen. Within the industry, she kept a low profile, while Hannah handled all professional matters.
To avoid unnecessary attention, she always wore a custom-made veil in public and never revealed her face. Only a handful of people knew that Cen was Genevieve and also the Lamberts’ daughter-in-law.
The owner of URI Corporation had stretched his reach far beyond what Genevieve could have anticipated.
At that moment, Genevieve raised a slender finger and tapped the laptop’s screen. The video paused, freezing Zachary’s face
in a haze of desire and confusion.
She narrowed her eyes, and the faintest hint of a smile tugged at her lips. “Interesting.”
Just then, her phone rang abruptly.
She answered, and Zachary’s voice came through instantly. “Genevieve Whitfield! How dare you stay out all night!
“Get back here at once! Behave yourself and stay home to look after Grandpa, and I’ll act like none of this ever happened.”
Was he out of his mind?
Genevieve had no intention of letting Zachary off the hook. Betrayal was unforgivable to her. She could accept a divorce, but infidelity was the one thing she would never tolerate.
With a tap, she ended the call. Then, she blocked him and deleted his number.
Only then did she look up, her gaze landing on Liam. “Mr. Palmer, thank you for coming. You may leave now. I still have work to attend to in the studio.”
But Liam didn’t move an inch. After all, his boss’ orders had been clear. He was to bring Genevieve in no matter what.
After Hannah’s confirmation the night before, the company had spent the night renovating a top-tier perfume lab, all in anticipation of Genevieve’s arrival. They were ready to benefit from her expertise.
If Liam returned without her, he wouldn’t know how to report it to his boss.
Genevieve noticed his hesitation. “Go back and tell your boss that I liked the gift. I’ll accept the collaboration with URI Corporation.”
She had always prioritized profit, and aligning herself with a powerhouse like URI Corporation would only benefit her. There was no reason for her to refuse.
Besides, after receiving such a generous “gift”, she fully intended to meet the mysterious owner in person.
The weight on Liam’s chest finally eased. He nodded respectfully and replied, “I understand. I’ll report back to my boss immediately and await your good news, Ms. Whitfield.”
With that, he turned and left.
