Jonas‘ expression darkened before he burst out laughing. “You should appreciate my attention. Who do you think you are? Tristan only chose you because of your face and your body. Today, I’m going to get a taste of what he likes about you.”
Before he even finished speaking, he grabbed Genevieve’s wrist firmly and started dragging
her toward the fire exit next to them.
Genevieve’s heart dropped into her stomach. She did her best to fight back, but given how much she had drunk, she barely had enough strength to hurt even a fly.
A cold voice suddenly rang out from the end of the corridor.
“Do you want to lose that hand?”
Jonas froze before turning back abruptly.
Tristan had appeared out of nowhere. He wore a black tailored suit that made his figure look even taller and broader. His face remained expressionless, but his dark eyes were fiery, blazing with bone–chilling rage.
The temperature around them dropped rapidly.
“Mr. H–Hale…” Jonas stammered out. His shirt instantly became drenched in cold sweat.
Why did he have to run into Tristan of all people?
Tristan walked over, his gaze fixed on Jonas‘ hand.
Jonas was so stunned that he forgot to let go of Genevieve.
Tristan stepped forward and reached out to grab Jonas‘ wrist. The latter immediately let out a harrowing scream and collapsed to the ground.
Tristan stared down at him. “Our partnership is over. Get out of Hudston before daybreak.”
Jonas stumbled out of the corridor in terror.
Only then did Tristan finally turn to look at Genevieve, who was leaning against the wall. Her eyes were unfocused, and she was shivering slightly. She was clearly incredibly drunk.
He reached out to her and spoke to her in a gentle tone that he had never used before. “I’ll take you home.”
Genevieve looked up slowly. Her gaze was clouded, and she struggled to make out his face.

When she finally did, it took her a long time to recognize him.
Instead of pulling away, she stumbled to her feet with his support.
Then she burrowed into his embrace.

The sensation of her soft body against his, paired with the heavy smell of alcohol mixed with her unique scent, immediately enveloped Tristan.
He froze.
“Tristan,” she murmured quietly in his arms. Her voice was as soft and gentle as the purr of a
cat.
Tristan’s heart skipped a beat.
He wanted to say something, but the woman in his arms started moving first.
One of her small hand crept up his chest and grabbed his tie, pulling him toward her. Her hazy gaze fixed on him, and she pouted unhappily.
“Why do you look so angry? Did you get mad at me again this afternoon?”
Her warm breath carried the scent of alcohol as it brushed against his jaw.
Tristan’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He grabbed her roaming hand and said in a hoarse voice, ” Genevieve, you’re drunk.”
“No, I’m not,” she said pitifully. Her other hand caressed his cheek boldly, her fingertips lightly tracing his tense jaw. “You’re a liar. A big, fat liar…”
All of a sudden, she stood on her tiptoes.
Her lips, still tasting of alcohol, landed directly on his.
Tristan’s mind blanked, and all rational thought immediately flew out the window.
Then he seized the opportunity, holding the back of her head and deepening the kiss.
The kiss was passionate and demanding–the result of all the suppressed emotions finally breaking free.
Tristan’s kisses left Genevieve breathless. Her legs weakened, and she had to cling to him for
support.
Tristan easily lifted her up in his arms. He carried her through the long corridor, ignoring all the shocked stares coming their way as he headed straight for his private elevator.
Then he carried her into a room. He left the lights off as he gently placed her on the bed

He looked down at the flushed woman in front of him.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“It’s so hot…” she murmured as she used one hand to loosen her collar.

Tristan leaned down and kissed the center of her brow, the tip of her nose, and finally her lips.
“Gen…” he murmured her name repeatedly, his voice laced with desire.
The night deepened outside the window as the two of them lost themselves in the moonlight.
