you chose her so i married better 51

Chapter 51

“Must I?” Tristan asked, leaning down. As his face inched closer to Genevieve’s, his warm

breath gently caressed her ear.

A cold, minty scent immediately enveloped her.

The memory of the kiss from last night made Genevieve’s cheeks heat up.

“I’m just… worried about you,” he said in a low, seductive voice. “Or are you perhaps afraid of me, Gen?”

Genevieve’s heart skipped a beat.

Her? Afraid of him?

What a joke!

Then a realization dawned on her. What did he just call her?

She looked up, wanting to push him away, but her eyes were immediately drawn to his

intense, deep gaze.

His eyes were filled with indescribable emotions.

Suddenly, a loud knock shattered the tension between them.

Hannah peeked inside the office. “Gen, Landers Group-

Before she could finish speaking, she saw the unexpected scene unfolding in front of her. Her eyes widened like saucers.

Tristan straightened up nonchalantly and smoothed his sleeves. He smiled at Hannah, then said to Genevieve, “I’ll be going now. Come to me if you need anything.”

After he left, Genevieve finally collapsed back into her chair.

What did that asshole want from her?

She covered her face with her hands. Her ears were worryingly warm.

This was crazy. She must have gone insane.

Tristan walked out of the building and got into the driver’s seat of a black Bentley.

As he started the car, he couldn’t hide the smile on his lips.

Chapter 51

“You seem to be in a good mood, Mr. Hale,” a cold voice rang out from the passenger seat.

James pushed his wire–rimmed glasses further up his nose.

As Tristan glanced at him, James tossed a manila envelope in his direction. “I’ve done what you asked.”

Tristan opened the envelope and flipped through the papers inside, his lips still curled in a

smile.

“You’re acting strange,” James said.

“What?”

“That expression…” James said. The longer he looked at Tristan, the weirder he found it. “You don’t look like someone who just signed a deal. You look more like…”

He trailed off as if he were trying to find the right word. “…a cat who got the cream.

Tristan’s smile widened. Without bothering to deny it, he started driving.

James stared at him in shock. “Tristan, are you dating someone?”

He couldn’t think of anything else that could make Tristan–an iceberg of a man–show such

an expression.

Was there really a woman who could actually make Tristan fall for her?

Tristan held the steering wheel with one hand as he looked forward. The image of Genevieve’s shy but irritated expression kept flitting into his mind. It was strangely enticing.

He chuckled lightly and said, “Mind your own business.”

Even though he didn’t admit it, his tone and expression made it clear enough.

James was taken aback.

As for Tristan, he felt the happiest he had in a long time.

He had genuinely fallen for Genevieve.

The black Bentley had just joined the flow of traffic on the road when James‘ phone pinged

with a news notification.

He clicked on it only to see the headline “Genius Perfumer Cen to Host a Launch Event for the Release of Her New ‘Rebirth‘ Series Tomorrow“.

James turned his screen toward Tristan. “Shall we go for this?”

Tristan replied mildly, “Of course.”

The launch event for the Rebirth series took place the very next day.

It was held at the most renowned art gallery in the city center. The building was packed with reporters and top perfume critics who had come to attend the event.

Genevieve was dressed in an ice–blue off–shoulder dress. The skirt of her dress was adorned with tiny gems that made it look like a starry sky. Her long hair was loosely pinned in an updo, with a few loose strands framing her face and fair neck. She looked as stunning and aloof as the moon in the night sky.

The moment she entered, everyone’s eyes were drawn to her.
