Chapter 32
Genevieve saw through Raymond’s intentions immediately. He was forcing her to spend time alone with Zachary.
In the end, she softened and gave a slight nod.
After Raymond finished dinner and went back to his room, Zachary instantly put on a warm, affectionate smile.
He stood, poured her a glass of red wine, then set Genevieve’s favorite lemon-butter sea bass neatly onto her plate.
“Gen,” he said, deliberately gentle. “I was wrong before. I let that woman cloud my judgment, and I did a lot of things that hurt you. Believe me, I’ll cut her off completely.”
He looked at her as though he were playing the lead in a romance movie. “Let’s start over, okay? Grandpa’s getting older. All he wants is a great-grandchild. Let’s have a baby, so he can finally have some peace of mind.”
Genevieve found him ridiculous. He really thought he was something.
Genevieve spoke flatly. “Zachary, I want a divorce. As for what you and Regina have been doing behind my back, I’ll deal with both of you later.”
The affection drained from his face as his mask fell, revealing the fury underneath.
“Don’t push it, Genevieve!” he snarled, grabbing for her wrist. “Do you think you’ll have anything once you leave the Lambert family? Everything you have today came from the Lamberts!”
His fingers were a breath away from her skin when Genevieve’s eyes sharpened. She rotated her wrist, caught his hand in a clean reversal, and clamped down precisely where it hurt most.
Zachary’s wrist went numb, and his forward momentum was thrown off balance. Before he even understood what was happening, his world spun upside down.
Genevieve hoisted him over her shoulder in one smooth motion and slammed him into the floor.
The impact hit with a heavy thud. Zachary lay there, stunned and humiliated.
Genevieve straightened, withdrew her hand, and looked down at him without a flicker of emotion. “Touch me again, and you’ll regret it.”
“Genevieve!” he roared.
She didn’t even spare him a glance as she turned and walked up the stairs.
Zachary lunged after her on instinct, but when he reached the master bedroom, he heard the lock click into place.
She hadn’t only hit him. She had also shut him out.
The anger in his chest had nowhere to go-it swallowed him whole, hot enough to scorch.
His fists clenched until the veins stood out on the backs of his hands, but he still didn’t dare pound on the door. Raymond had just fallen asleep, and waking him would only make everything worse.
Zachary spun on his heels, grabbed his car keys, and stormed out.
He slammed the door, floored the accelerator, and disappeared into the night.
He needed an outlet.
Half an hour later, his car rolled into the underground garage of a high-end apartment building.
The window slid down. Regina leaned in, her makeup flawless, a sweet smile on her lips-deliberately dressed in a skimpy slip.

She climbed into the passenger seat and pouted. “Zach, you finally came to see me. I’ve been waiting forever-”
Before she could finish speaking, Zachary grabbed her and dragged her close, all heat and impatience.
Zachary lost himself completely, driven by raw instinct as he used her to vent the anger and humiliation burning inside him.
Regina stiffened at first, startled by the force of him. Then, just as quickly, she melted into it, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and pressing close, determined to pull his attention back to herself.
Just as he reached his peak, he tightened his grip around her. Then, he suddenly thought of Genevieve’s slim waist.
