Chapter 30
“Made just for you… Your soul will shape its notes…” Zachary muttered the words under his breath, his jaw tightening.
He was Genevieve’s husband, yet she had never once made a custom fragrance for him. But now, she was doing it for a
stranger.
Did Genevieve have any idea how stupid that was?
He scrolled to her contact and called.
“Sorry, the number you’ve dialed is unavailable. Please try again later.”
Genevieve had blocked his number.
Zachary’s chest heaved with anger when his screen suddenly lit up.
Sylvia was calling.
He answered impatiently, “Mom, what is it?”
Sylvia didn’t sound any calmer. “Zachary, where are you? Why did Genevieve come back with Tristan?”
Zachary abruptly hung up and slammed his foot on the gas.
Half an hour later, the car skidded into the driveway with a sharp screech, swinging into a tight arc at the entrance of the
Lambert residence.
Zachary got out of the car and slammed the door hard. He gripped his phone so hard that his knuckles went white. A private investigator had just sent him the photos.
The photo had been taken deliberately, capturing Genevieve on tiptoe in the apothecary, her hand covering Tristan’s mouth.
In the photo, they were standing far too close, looking almost intimate.
Zachary stormed into the living room.
Raymond was leaning back on the couch, his complexion far better than before. The herbs were clearly taking effect.
Genevieve sat nearby in an armchair, speaking quietly to him. The room felt almost warm.
“Genevieve!” Zachary strode over to Raymond and shoved his phone in front of him. “Grandpa, look! This is the woman you’re defending! She hooked up with Tristan behind my back!”
The air in the room froze.
Raymond’s eyes narrowed as he stared at the photo, his breath coming fast and shallow.
Genevieve stared at Zachary as if he had completely lost it. She thought that the entire thing was absurd and ridiculous.
But Zachary didn’t even spare her a glance. He put all the blame on Tristan instead.
Zachary jabbed at the screen, his voice dripping with malice. “They’ve been sneaking around for a while, haven’t they? Why else would Tristan keep approaching her? He’s using her to get at our family’s assets!”
A sharp crack cut through the room.
Raymond smashed the teacup to the floor, tea splattering as shards skidded across the carpet.
“You idiot!” Raymond clutched the armrest, his whole body shaking as he pointed at Zachary. “How did our family produce a fool like you?”
The fury slammed into him, draining the color from his face. He pressed a hand to his chest, struggling to catch his breath.

“Grandpa!” Genevieve’s heart sank. She stood up immediately and moved to steady him.
Before she could reach Raymond, a cool, low voice came from the doorway. “Mr. Lambert, you’re making such a fuss. People might think Lambert Group is about to go under.”
Tristan walked in at an unhurried pace, his expression cool and unreadable.
His gaze flicked to the phone in Zachary’s hand. “There’s nothing going on between Genevieve and me. Instead of jumping to conclusions and spying on us, maybe you should keep the person at your side in line.
“Ms. Sloane has been spreading rumors about Genevieve online. Shouldn’t you be the one stepping in to clear that up?” Only then did Raymond remember what he’d heard earlier. His friend had mentioned that Regina was back.
